I had silver Jimmy Choos for my wedding. Totally worth it. I've worn them a lot since. I'm wearing them to another wedding next weekend. I figured I could buy cheap white/ivory satin shoes I'd never wear again, or I could go big.
The woman who worked at the bridal store helped me find a dress that had lace but was flattering to my figure. I'm pretty excited to plan another wedding if I get married again.
Definitely a less poofy and more elegant dress. I also would have taken immediate family only and done a destination wedding and skipped the giant party.

I so badly wanted to wear my brown, high-heeled clogs, but my mom wouldn't have it. Fortunately, right after the ceremony the strap on one of the basic, satiny, white heels broke, so I got to wear my clogs the rest of the day
I want a sari so bad its ridic. Or a masquerade/renaissance. Or possibly something more LOTRish. . Flame away. I don't care. I just know I'd take that shit way less seriously.
This is actually similar to the dress I wore when I got married in 2003. My dress had sleeves and a neckline that were made of the materials that's on her veil, though, not lace. And, I'm quite sure that mine cost several bajillion dollars less than hers. I would wear the same dress again if I got married today. I loved it so much that I never wanted to take it off.
I would watn a destination wedding. Very few guests and on the beach. Not sure what beach yet - probably HI somewhere though. It would be no stress and extremely casual.
Are we talking about second weddings or going back in time and re-doing number one? Because for a second wedding, I'd wear something simple and tea length like this:

But if I were re-doing first wedding again, I might go big and princessy. I was torn between big and princessy or slim and elegant, and I went with the latter. But it would be fun to do the big ballgown too. Like:

I wish I had gotten married when they had the shorter dress styles. That's what I would have done the 1st time.
It was hard enough bothering to get a white long dress for my first wedding that I don't see anything convincing me to even nod at traditional for a 2nd. I actually wore jeans to my wedding, technically, since we got married in a courthouse about 3 months before the wedding. We didn't even have to have a JOP or witnesses.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who looks at all of this and is even more determined never to do this again. Uggh.
You're not alone. Despite my <20 person barefoot wedding, I don't want to do that again. I can't imagine doing the huge white dress thing more than once.

LOL!!!!!
Sorry, that doesn't happen. Maybe I had less stress than the average woman planning a wedding, but family will find a way to stress you out regardless how many guests you have or whether they're wearing shoes or not.
