I'm sure most of you saw it but I posted on FB about a possible allergic reaction A had. I heard back from the pedi and she said it does sound like an allergy, but it's possible that it's actually related to an environmental allergy and not necessarily the food (if it's for sure the strawberry). I'm bringing her in next week for allergy testing. So hopefully we will have a definitive answer then! Until then I'll be careful about what we give her. I wonder if I should avoid strawberry too? It's not something I eat often but I do drink strawberry flavored things sometimes. She's never had a reaction before but just in case I'll probably avoid it until the appointment and ask then.
estrellita, sorry A had a possible allergic reaction. Allergies can be a very scary thing as a parent.
I'm officially switching G to a one nap schedule so I'm anticipating lots of crankiness this week. I'm aiming for busy mornings, early lunch and nap. B is really good about doing "quiet time" in her room for a couple of hours in the afternoon so it'd be awesome to have their rest times match up.
Other than that, I scheduled a picture session for Wednesday morning since I had a Groupon that was expiring. We really don't need pics, but why not? It will be an activity if nothing else. We'll probably do a playdate with my girlfriend one day, and I signed us up for a library class Friday morning. Friday night I am taking B to a Peppa Pig event at our local play place. I haven't told her, but she's obsessed with Peppa so hopefully it will be a happy surprise for her!
estrellita I hope y’all can get the allergy thing figured oit quickly!
Blue Moon Good luck with the nap transition! Hopefully you can get them to rest at the same time.
I really dislike traveling with a 3 year old. I really struggle with how to discipline him while we’re supposed to be doing fun things. He just doesn’t listen and does ridiculous things like knock things off tables while walking by or just start tossing things out of a bag. H gets mad pretty easily when it happens which doesn’t help things and just makes going places not fun.

((Hugs)) tacocat. C made our vacation seriously hard. I didn’t think it would be all that bad (or that he would be the worst if the two for that matter) but it was pretty brutal...when things were bad they were realy bad. Thankfully there were some good moments and we just kept pushing through, doing things we know he loves while keeping with a consistent schedule. I just don’t think he does well when he doesn’t know where we are etc. plus, him and DH butt head a lot which just escalates things.

Blue Moon- I hope the nap transition goes well!! L goes down around 12:30 and C anywhere 12:40-1. They are both in their rooms til about 3, sometimes even 3:30. Its awesome! C doesn’t always nap but at least I am not “on”. Sometimes I get something done that’s easier when they are asleep (like dinner or cleaning a bathroom/kitchen) but mostly I try to sit from 1:30 til whenever they wake up. Definitely helps me get through the afternoon and nice to get out before nap and sometimes after nap! Good luck friend!!
We went from Vacation Bible School every single night last week to NO plans this week, and I love it!! When we're not rushing like lunatics, the nights are so much more pleasant! Tonight we checked out a place that won an award for best hot dogs in the state, and it was so fun. J is so sweet.. Three is definitely an emotional age, but I love the conversations. Tonight he told me "you have my favorite tummy in the whole world and such beautiful eyes, Mommy." This is hilarious because I am a size 20 and no one in the world thinks this tummy is beautiful. But he truly does and it makes me wonder when kids get ruined by the world and start judging people.
((Hugs)) to you too luv2rn4fun. I know what you mean with H butting heads, which doesn’t help. It probably also doesn’t help that H is usually the one dealing with him since DS2 is still so little.
This week is going by pretty fast! Been busy mostly having fun!
Monday I took the boys to breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, Dinosaur Park, and the lake before nap. Then my dad came over and we took them to froyo and then thebpark to play tball.
Tuesday I had 4 boys and we all survived! It actually went pretty well and they all napped a little at the same time! I let them drive their F150 truck we have had since C was 6 months old (DH’s old boss gave it to us) and they all loved it! The younger boy had some sad moments and I felt bad for him...he was missing mommy and daddy so I gave him lots of cuddles and extra attention.
Yesterday we did the regional park and grocery shopped. After nap we did the mall playground and Ruby’s for dinner (they had a special for their bday)! DH met us there and we all had dinner!
A good friend is pregnant with their son (31 weeks) after years of TTC. She invited me to her baby shower next weekend so we were texting back and forth...I basically offered her a ton of baby gear which she is wanting to take (car seat/bases, BOB adapter, rock n play, bouncer, play mats, walker, ergo baby carrier infant insert, nursing pillow, bath tub, etc). So happy it will all go to a good home!!
So, every night L insists on sitting on the toddler potty and our toilet before bath. He never pees though and it has been going on forever. Last night I decided to interrupt his bath tub pee (which he does right after sitting on the toilet, no matter how long you have him sit) and put him on the toilet...he finished peeing there!!! Progress!
We also sold our guest bed and the buyer is coming tomorrow to pick it up!
Hope y’all are having a great week! HoneySpider- I hate the first couple weeks PP boobs...I never leaked with C but was a total leaky mess with L. I am still nursing (he’s almost 2, hoping to wean soon but he still seems obsessed) and am ready to have my boobs back!
E has been dry every morning and A is sleeping in the PnP every night! Well, sort of at least, minus random screaming and fussing.
So we got a bill at DC for "music" and I had no idea what it was for. It ended up on the wrong bill (other E..) but now I know they have a music class. How did I not know this until now? E would LOVE music class. I saw signs for one but didn't know it was actually at/during DC time. I'm annoyed that no one ever said anything about it. It's full right now but I might look into it when they open it up again in a couple months.

My MIL sent us a Taste of Chicago gift package - a couple of Lou Malnati's pizzas and a Portillos beef sandwich kit. OMG best new baby gift ever! So excited to have that stocked in the freezer.

Busy and productive day! I have vacuumed downstairs, cleaned the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, tile downstairs, random windows that had kid handprints all over them, grilled dinner, took the boys for a walk and out to breakfast at Panera Bread (I had a free breakfast entree!), and even sold our queen guest bed and my guitar (both picked up)! It’s been a great end to a good week!

Ok so.. E is dry in the mornings but he keeps having accidents at DC. Earlier this week he ran up to me when I came to pick him up and said "I'm poopy!" Ugh. I think that time he just didn't wipe well enough. It was more than just a mark but not a lot. Then yesterday he had another poop accident and they actually threw away his underwear (they usually send it home in a plastic bag). Today H got there to pick him up and he peed in his underwear. What is going on??? Apparently he said something to H about A doing it (because she has a diaper..). So maybe an attention thing? Idk how to make him stop!
My nephew was born at 34 weeks and is doing amazing! He might even get to go home with SIL. I’m so relieved!
Yesterday my friend watched B so I could take G to a toddler music class and he loved it. Then, I took B to meet Peppa Pig last night and she was so excited and happy I was almost in tears at her pure joy. Tonight my parents and brother are spending the night and H and I might sneak away to grab a quick bite and meet our nephew.
Ugh estrellita potty training regressions are just as frustrating as sleep regressions! DS had a minor setback at daycare after being dry for months. Turns out, his BFF was potty training that week and following DS into the bathroom. The loss of privacy caused him to hold it and have accidents. Kids think they can hold it forever, they'll do it "later."
HoneySpider I hate my pregnancy and nursing boobs. I can't wait to get back to nothing.
DS made the mistake of climbing onto our tallest toilet by himself. Now I'm all, get in there and potty by yourself, you don't need my help.

ewall I do think that was part of why he had trouble going at DC when he was first PTing. The bathrooms are open so that they can keep an eye on the kids more easily. But lately it's either been totally random or when they're outside. They take potty breaks when they're outside but he always waits until the last possible second to poop. And he didn't even tell the teachers. One of them noticed he smelled like poop and checked him, otherwise they wouldn't have known! I don't know what to do. I've always read not to punish a kid for accidents but it's getting out of hand. Idk if we need to start taking things away or maybe rewarding on days he doesn't have an accident? He's been PTed 10 months now, he should know better!

C has been having some issues as well. I don’t punish for the pure accidents (when this was happening at preschool I bribed him with a treat/reward if he kept dry) but have been putting him in timeout when he purposely pees on a toy (yes, this is his new thing...he thinks it’s awesome to be on things...just this week he tried to pee on a PNP and successfully peed on a lego train and his fire truck coupe). He has also had random accidents because he just waits too long and doesn’t say anything...so I have been mindful of just making sure he goes regularly to avoid this (I also had his teachers make him go at preschool and it wasn’t long before he was going on his own). I think at this age they just don’t want to stop doing things and they hold it too long...so it’s important to remind them when they get in a bad cycle and then praise when they are back in a good cycle.

The thing is, they do potty breaks pretty often. I think it's just pooping he has an issue with. I know he waits until the last second no matter how many times we ask. He runs around, does a bit of a potty dance, etc. We ask him several times if he has to poop and remind him he can come back and play when he's done. He refuses. 5 min later he's running to the bathroom. We try to make him go but then he flips out and has a tantrum so we don't try to force it as much anymore. We still ask, but won't tell him he has to go try anymore. I can't take the screaming fits, lol.
