What's the secret with sewing in the ends? I'm making a baby blanket, switching between 3 colors, so lots of ends. They're just hanging out now, because the first few rows I did, the ends are coming loose. How do I sew them in so they stay?

Yep.
Ends...grrrr... I hate them! What I do is sew it back & forth over like 5 - 8 stitches, 3 - 4 times, but when I get to the end I don't go backwards in the EXACT same spot - I use one of the other crochets to kind of anchor them down... I'm sure that's clear as mud.
Many people recommend sewing them in vertically as well as horizontally, I haven't done that and have VERY RARELY had an end come loose on me
If the stripes are just a few rows of each color, I just carry the colors up the side. If there are a lot of rows of each color, but, it's a fairly solid (non-lacy) stitch, I just snip and crochet several stitches with the new color and the old color's tail (tends to stick better than weaving in the ends with most yarns).
If you have a really slippery yarn, splitting the plies and weaving them in separately can help a lot- since you already have a bunch of ends, that's what I'd recommend.
I do it similar to this but I zig zag (top stitch then bottom stitch then top, etc). I stretch that section a little bit because it tends to get tight and then I do it again in the opposite direction, stretch it, and then trim the end.
