My RE is so reassuring. I feel better after meeting with her. She really thinks we will get pregnant with one of these embryos. The protocol is super simple (oral estrogen, progesterone shots) and it looks like I’ll only have two monitoring appointments before transfer unless my lining fails to thicken appropriately.
I also got my embryo grades. I know nothing about embryo grading really but I think they look pretty good?
Day 5: 4AB 4BA 3AA 3AA 3BB
Day 6: 4BA
I think they look pretty good. My first IVF cycle, I had 4BB, 4BC, 3BC, 3CC. You have several that are good quality and a couple of average quality.
Good luck fairfax! Iirc, G22 used an estrogen priming protocol for her 2nd (and ultimately successful) IVF cycle.
You've got a great memory Pooh! fairfax I did estrogen priming protocol for my 2nd IVF after the first round failed on the long lupron protocol.
I had to look up my protocol because its been over 3 years since I did it, so forgive my fuzzy memory. I did EPP for 4 weeks prior to begining my IVF cycle. Followed by Microflare Lupron, Menopur and Gonal F. 9 eggs retrieved, 4 fertilized, 2 transferred, 2 frozen. I did get a BFP with that cycle.
EPP worked well for me because I don't make a ton of eggs. I only got 4 the first IVF and of that 3 fertilized and only 2 made it to transfer day. So EPP basically doubled everything at retrieval/fertilization/etc.
Thank you so much! This is great to hear because I don’t make many eggs either. The first cycle they retrieved 6, 4 were mature, 3 fertilized and only 1 made it to blast stage (barely, on day 7).
Thanks again for sharing - I’m glad it worked well for you!
A friend of mine is slowly grating on my nerves. She's pregnant via IVF, so she thinks she's the expert on everything.
Friend: Any symptoms !!! Lol do you feel relieved now though Me: Dude, it's only been in me for 24 hours. Any symptoms at this point would be all in my head. Friend: Lol I guess cause I went through it twice I could tell the different the first night I felt it
fairfax I did estrogen priming for IVF 3 and 4. For number 3 they had me on the shots and pills and it turned out to be too much for me and my follicles grew too fast They switched me to just estrogen pills for number 4 and it was my best cycle in that I had 3 blasts and got my son out of it. Good luck!
fairfax. Ditto everything G22 said. The EPP the second time around helped with number mature, fertilized, and blasts for me because I am DOR and don't produce many eggs.

WTF. No, you didn't.
I went through 4 rounds of IVF and an FET and nope I could not tell the difference when it finally worked. Actually I had zero symptoms. People are so freaking annoying.
CD1 here. I have to update my testing with bloodwork and a sonohysterogram on the 15th.
Starting BC Monday which I’ll take until the 26th. If AF arrives by the 29th, I’ll get started with my protocol for our FET in mid-September. This has come up on us fast!!
We’re going on vacation the last week of August. If I don’t start AF in that few days after I stop BCP, we’ll have to push to October. Ordinarily, I’d have to come in for an ultrasound to make sure my lining isn’t too thick to start. But we’ll be out if the country. So hopefully we’ll do September, but might end up being October instead.
EEEEEK I am excited and slightly panicked. I know I wanted to have kids pretty close together but this shit is getting real.

I had my baseline monitoring yesterday and started estrace last night. I go back next Thursday & if my lining looks good, I’ll switch to PIO and my FET will be the 16th.
It’s a little weird to me that I switch to PIO so early in my cycle (CD10). Is that normal?

That seems a little early, 7 days prior to transfer. I started PIO 5 days before transfer every time.

Are you definitely calendared to have the PIO starting on CD10? Or is it possible you will start PIO a couple of days after your lining check? My protocol is oral estrogen 2x a day for a week, blood draw, oral estrogen 3x a day for a week, blood draw and ultrasound/lining check, then a couple of days later start PIO for 5 days before transfer. The estrogen seems to vary a lot between clinics but I’ve never heard of the progesterone timing being that different except in cases where an ERA has shown a pre-receptive result.
An unexpected piece of good news today: I got my insurance approval for my FET cycle in the mail! I didn’t realize it would be submitted prior to our consult but I’m so glad it’s taken care of so I dont have to worry in the unlikely event my period comes earlier than expected.
Consult tomorrow afternoon! I feel like I have sooo many questions. If any of you have things you recommend asking based on your own experience I’d love to hear them.
Congrats! This is great news.
Doc can’t get me in for this cycle, so my FET is scheduled for the 14th of September (there was a scheduling error). If it fails, we will do a retrieval in late November or December.
My FET is scheduled for Sept 14th as well!
Hi. I’m sneaking back in here. This is cycle 1 of TTC #2 for us.

As far as I know, the nurse said I would be on PIO for 6 days before transfer. CD16 is only if my lining looks think enough and hopefully trilaminar on the 10th (CD10). It just seemed early in my cycle.

Was your embryo frozen on day 6? If so that may explain the slightly longer time on progesterone before transfer. My clinic uses 5.5 days of exposure for all blasts regardless of day frozen but I know some providers adjust based on embryo “age” at freezing. CNY does TONS of transfers and seems to have a lot of success so I’m sure it will be fine either way.
seeyalater52, yes, my embryo was day 6, so that makes sense. It's just the switch to PIO so early in my cycle I was wondering out.
I think your overall protocol is just a little shorter. Mine is about 21-22days total (transfer around CD21 or CD22) but it seems a little arbitrary since all that matters is that you don’t ovulate through the estrogen and your lining looks good.
Tomorrow will be 5dp5dt. Test or don't test? Blood work isn't until Friday, and I"ll def test Thursday so I'm not blindsided by a call at work. Torn on whether or not to test sooner.
If you’re only going to test once before beta I’d split the difference and test on 7dpt when the results are a little more accurate. But I know myself and I’d probably really test on both 5dpt and 7dpt because I have no chill.

I just don't want to do it too early and then be upset if it's negative. I was originally going to wait until Wednesday (7dpt) at the earliest, but now I don't know if I can wait that long. No chill here either!
Totally. For me I almost think it’s eaiser to ease in to acceptance if I test first when it could be too early. It doesn’t make me as sad as it does when I get a later negative and realize I’m definitely out. But I also know how upsetting a negative result can be so I can see it both ways!
I’m no help and with seeyalater. I tested earlier so that I could both slightly accept a bad outcome and tell myself it was too early. For reference I’ve had first BFPs at 4.5 days- 6.5dp. If you don’t want the emotional roller coaster then I suggest testing day 7 or later.

No chill here. I tested at 5dp5dt, and 6, and got my BFP at 7.
