Dear work computer, I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't freeze up on me constantly. Signed, I'm just asking you to show my email and one web based program
Dear weather, Thank you for being gray and colder today. It made coming back to work a *little* easier. Signed, Not happy to be back at work after 19 days off
Dear New Copy Machine Being broken just sucks. You went down yesterday and it took them half the day to fix you. We got to copy/print one thing after lunch and it dies again. Got a new hard drive this morning and now all our saved scan/shortcuts are gone. I need to print/copy/scan! Me who is swimming in work
Dear Me How can you weigh more now than you did 9 months pregnant? I've put 5lbs on in a year but still can wear size 4 pants. What is going on are the scales just crazy? Me who really needs to stick to my diet and add in exercise
supertrooper1, I also enjoyed the gray morning and liked the cool night. First night I've slept great in a week. I'm also thankful we didn't wake up to smoke filled skies.
Dear parents everywhere, Can we just agree on something please?
Anytime you buy a craft kit for a child can we just agree to make sure it's a project for the kid and not for the parent? I have about 40 boxes in the closet of science kits that require parent supervision ( I have to do all the tasks), tiny s'mores that take me 28 minutes to pat and microwave and mix resulting in two bite-sized sugar segments, rock crystals that aren't even safe for kids to touch without me mixing it, wooden cars that have to be sanded and assembled by me, bead pets that my kids cannot even comprehend how to put together, multiple sets of bracelet making kits my kid can't understand, and a half-made blanket of knots that I now need to untangle and start over again.
Signed, Even if I have the time....I don't WANT to!
Dear mom, Please be chill when I call and drop this bomb on you today. I get it, it should be a face to face conversation and you're going to have a ton of questions about what our exact plans are. But I don't have answers and I don't have time to drive 4 hours round trip to have this conversation. Plus, to be honest, I need it to be over the phone so you don't freak out quite as much as you would in person. DH and I are amicable right now, please help me keep it that way? I don't need your negativity, I need your support. Signed, Stressed out Daughter
Dear MIL, I'm glad you get it and are supportive. Dinner tonight without DH is still going to be so f-ing awkward. Please don't say things that will make me cry in front of my kids. Signed, DIL
I'm trying really hard not to say anything negative about you taking a 6 week leave of absence to study for your exam. Again, it's fine. But again, it would be nice if you could tell me, ahead of time, that in addition to not having income for those 6 weeks, we have to actually pay your company close to $1,000 to keep your benefits for that period.
Signed, Wife who is only complaining about it here because she doesn't want to seem unsupportive
Dear Children,
I love you. I really do. But sleeping in my bed when daddy is away has got to stop. I got no sleep last night.

Dear DCP,
I'm confused...I'm pretty sure you have a 24-hour fever free policy, so why did you allow a client to drop their kid off today who supposedly had a "high fever" (your words) yesterday when I dropped DS off at 9:30 am after his well child check up? I'm pretty sure that means the kid who had a fever yesterday was not fever free for 24 hours before being dropped off this morning before 7:00 am.
Signed, Client who follows the rules when my kids are sick and just wants other people to follow the rules as well (otherwise, why have rules?...just call them guidelines then)
Dear DD,
You have been a ROCK STAR the past 5 nights for sleeping all night, every night in your own bed. I'm proud of you. Keep it up!

Dear Tutor,
I had a bad feeling that with the 1st grade class schedule, you wouldn't be able to meet with us. And sure enough. Hopefully we can find someone as awesome as you.
supertrooper1, Yes, it very much has a metallic taste. These are meds that are supposed to prevent migraines, so not really like a painkiller that you take once you get them. How long did it last? I'm at almost a month, on the plus side, I have lost some weight.
campermom, I bought DD a couple of crafts for her b-day thinking she could do them while she hung with me at work. The one craft even I can't figure out how to do. The others all need some form of adult help. So frustrating especially since I bought the ones that said 4+ for my 7 year old.
twinmomma, good luck. Start the phone call off with your mom as I need you to listen and support me if you start going negative I will just hang up the phone and we can try again later. Be brave and don't listen to the negative you don't need or deserve it. Good luck at dinner your MIL seems really cool so hopefully it is a good dinner.

Dear Endocrinologist,
DS was denied the treatment you applied for by our insurance company. Our insurance company won't explain the denial to me, they'll only explain it to you. But you're on leave so...I have no one who can call.
Also, you referred us to genetics because of some weird test results in DD. The geneticist wants to do exome sequencing and I'm having cold feet about it. I'd like to talk to you about it but...again...you're on extended leave so I can't.
And by the way, it took 2 weeks of me calling your office for someone to tell me that you're on extended leave. so. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that switching endo's is easier than switching OBGYNs when you're pregnant.
Camping is going well. We were supposed to get to our lake house but DH wanted to do some things in the opposite direction so we booked a hotel for showers. Our campsite was really rustic. Then we are camping again for two more night. 4 nights of camping!
I think my medication was causing the cramping not to mention being dirty from camping so I eased off from twice a day to once a day and am feeling better today. I guess I am not dying after all.
DS dropped his hearing aid on the deck, and it went through the crack. I about had a heart attack thinking there was water underneath. Luckily it was dirt and DH got it up with a hook. But my hearing aid life flashed before my eyes. DH is going really well with camping but not the best rower. He eventually got the hang of it. Then we played in a waterfall but it was more for bigger kids that wouldn’t fall and bump down the current, so I was a tiny bit stressed especially after the hearing aid incident. But back to the campsite tonight and there is wine.
Thanks for the solidarity. My mom was surprisingly fine and calm. MIL tried to convince me that she's been in a bad marriage for 30 years and you just make it work. Umm... No. Not healthy. I think she's in denial. But she was still generally supportive.
