If you could only use one color for the rest of eternity which one would you choose?
On work days I’m all about single shadow looks for the sake of time. My go to is always solstice by UD. It looks different depending on how it’s applied and it’s subtle enough for work but still a little bit wild with the color shift
Well, it was Lorac Pewter but they discontinued it as a single, and even the one in the palette is different.
Now it's UD Mushroom. I love that it's neutral and I can build it up to a nice smokey color. @pippin, it's a shimmery cool taupe, powder shadow single.

I forgot about that one. I’m adding it to the list. Thanks:)
I have a Bobbi Brown cream shadow in a light pink sparkle that I use on days I don't have time for a full on eye. It's pretty subtle and brightens up my eye just enough.

I think for me it’s a tossup between Laura Mercier’s Caviar stick in rose gold, and Anastasia’s eyeshadow single Electro, which is a gorgeous lilac/lavender/blue/sometimes hot pinkish shade depending on the light and how you applied it. It blends like a dream. I know two is sort of cheating, but it depends for me on the other rules! If I can bring a few different colors of liners to vary up the look, my answer would be the caviar stick all the way. If that’s all I can do to my eye, period, I’d go for the Anastasia single and try to use it on the under eye too and try to blend it on the lid in a way that still provides depth and dimension even with one shade. Good question!

I'm torn. Probably MUFE I-514, but if I really didn't care about a highlight color, it would be MUFE I-544. Probably I-544, it's one of my favorite shadows, hands down.
MAC Copperplate was my favorite for years, but they discontinued it and I didn’t realize it in time to buy backups. These days I use Nars Ashes to Ashes (light warm taupe) if I want a simple single-color eye.

Another vote for UD sin. It’s the only eyeshadow single I’ve ever repurchased. I can’t remember when I bought it the first time, but I remember the cases were metal back then.
this thread is killing me. I DO NOT NEED more eyeshadow, I barely use the ones I have, but single shadow quickies are exactly the ones I DO use, and I have this weird temptation to make a palette of a bunch of different shades that all work alone just so I can keep it on top and grab it and pick one...
is that a crazy idea? I feel like it is. Bu tI also have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket...

I love this idea! I've been adding all of these to my favorites at Sephora and Ulta.

Because of this thread I'm probably buying singles of a couple of the MUFE shadows I love and putting them in a small palette. I still use and love a couple MAC singles for crease color and have another eyeshadow single that I've been using and loving lately. I wonder if I would use them as much in a palette or if part of what I like about them is the ability to just throw one in my makeup bag and go.
Mine was a Benefit shadow long since discontinued - Buckle Bunny. It was unique and I can’t dupe it anywhere. I don’t even know how to describe it. Pinky brown maybe.
Now I’ll reach for something like L’Oréal Infallible in Amber Rush or Butter eye gloss in Icing.

MUFE has very affordable empty palettes that you could do this with. And MAC refill pans are so cheap.
