I adored Spinning Silver, and I always enjoy the Discovery of Witches trilogy. I think this was my third time through the series? Bird Box was quite good as well.

41. The Case of the Missing Treasure by Robin Stevens 4**** 42. Crowned and Dangerous by Rhys Bowen 4**** 43. Poirot and Me by David Suchet 5*****
Poirot and Me was excellent and I highly recommend it if you were a fan of the ITV/A&E adaptations. It was such a treat to go behind the scenes and see how Suchet became Poirot.
The Case of the Missing Treasure was great, but it was a novella, and I always want more with such short visits.
Crowned and Dangerous was good and I'm glad I read it, but I don't want to say any more for fear of spoiling it for someone else.
Since We Fell by Dennis Lehane **** I could see what he was going for, but this was definitely no Shutter Island. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones **** I liked this one a lot. It wasn't what I expected, but it was still really good. The Summer that Melted Everything **** My goodreads review for this one is "I don't know. I just don't know." lol. the Vengeance of Mothers by Jim Fergus ** BAD. SO BAD. We're Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union **** Again not what I was expecting, but really good. Heavier than I thought it would be. But she is very honest and open and I did feel like I was having a conversation with her. The Collector by Nora Roberts. *** Just your typical Roberts. Maybe worse than some of her typical ones.
The Pact by Jodi Piccoult: 4* The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand: 3.5* Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand: 2* All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover: 3.5* Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix (re-read): 5*
I had a epic month! I totally neglected my family to read all month.
The Last One 5* - it was an interesting take on the apocalypse. I just wish it had gone a little farther at the end.
Eliza and Her Monsters 5* - cute YA book about an awkward girl who creates a viral comic.
The Thief (BDB #16) 4* - I liked this one better than the past couple. I was kind of turned off of Assail and Sola but this brought me back to liking them.
Warcross 4*
Cowboy Pride 3* - this was a big library read and I always like P&P retellings.
Mountain Daddy 3* - Contemporary romance. It was a nice story but there were a few holes. It probably should have been edited better.
Fahrenheit 451 3* - I get what the book was doing and it wasn't supposed to be about the characters but the characters were really unrealistic.
Beautiful Mess trilogy 4* - I really loved this and couldn't put it down. There were a bunch of things that bugged me but the plot was pretty solid. It probably could have been 2 books (or even 1) instead of 3. The middle book didn't do much. But it was nice having more time with the characters.
I am at 37/52 for the year. 7 books ahead according to goodreads.
I re-read Ruin and Rising and Siege and Storm from Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy. 4* to both. Borrowed my daughter’s Menagerie series by Tui and Kari Sutherland: 5* for book one and 4* for two and three. It’s a really fun middle grade series.
Crazy Rich Asians 4* and China Rich Girlfriend 3* All We Ever Wanted by Emily Griffin 4* (engaging, not at all memorable beyond the big issues) The Paragon Hotel 4* — got an ARC of this and enjoyed it The Book of Essie 4* The Storm King 2* (very meh, skimmed a lot of it)
