Hi! I am an old grad, my TTTC baby turned 4 in April. I also have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old from non treatment cycles. I am inching closer to carrying as a gestational carrier and have no experience with IVF. We were successful with IUI when conceiving DD. Can I hang out around here and maybe rack your brains about IVF meds and protocols, etc? I am about to be matched with a family and am so freaking excited but also nervous!
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I lurk here, but just gave birth in February as a gestational carrier. Let me know if you have any questions!! It was an amazing experience.
How quickly did things moved for you once you were matched? We were matched this past week and I’m not sure what to expect in terms of timeline yet. I’ll hear more this week.

In a nutshell:
I was matched with two IPs. My first couple, we were matched in September, and our first transfer was in March.
My second IP, we were matched in February and our transfer was in June.
In both cases, once we agreed to move forward, we quickly went into psychological testing, and I got officially approved by the RE with various tests and whatnot. Then the contract phase and signings. Once the contract was signed I began BCP and started my medicine/injections.
In my first match, they were a same sex couple, so they had to select an egg donor, and make the embryos. They chose to do PGS, so that took some time. Our first attempt resulted in pregnancy but I lost the baby at 9 weeks due to a SCH. Our next two attempts did not result in pregnancy. They moved on to adoption.
My second match started off similarly, but my IM was single, so she had to then choose a sperm donor, make the embryos, and she did PGS. She only got one embryo, it thankfully was normal, and it resulted in her now six month old!
I’m happy to go further into depth, or answer any questions you may have! Those early months seemed to drag, but there was plenty going on, but I wasn’t always involved in it directly.

Thank you! We were matched with a single woman who already has one frozen embryo. I’m thinking this could move quickly because of that.

Yes, that will certainly speed things up! Best of luck, and do not hesitate to reach out to me!
