I feel like I've heard people talking about getting samples of products from Sephora or Ulta...is that a thing you can do with foundations? I've never done the sample thing.

Two tips: I’d suggest you go in with a rough idea of what you might want, as there are so many colors that it can be overwhelming.

Also when I went, I had read on their website that they offered shimmer finishes. The woman behind the counter didn’t immediately let on that was an option, and I only got it by asking. Not sure if she was new or if she just forgot. So if there’s something you want and don’t see it, ask!

I did it in 2016 and I believe they changed things a little after I went, so I would love to hear a review!

Sephora is good about getting some samples of foundation to try. I don't think Ulta does it but I have never asked so what do I know?

yes, Sephora will definitely give you samples. IMO, it depends on the store/associate on how willing they are to do it. I like to go to the Sephora inside JCP during the week/middle of the day when it's not as busy. There is usually one older woman who is super nice and gives out samples like crazy. Other people aren't so willing. 

I actually just went in to the Sephora in our bigger mall ask for a couple samples of foundation in a darker shade because I've been using a self tanner on my face and my current foundation wasn't matching. They gave me 4 different samples (2 colors of 2 different foundations). The girl was willing to give me even more. She also asked if I wanted anything else, so I told her I was in the market for a new eye cream and she recommended 2 and gave me samples.

Sephora is supposed to give you up to 3 samples a visit but I’ve gotten more if I’m looking at a few different things. Depends on the person helping me. The couple Sephora’s by me have always been super friendly about it. Ulta won’t do samples but they have testers out for all the high end stuff and a few drugstore options now. I’ve swatched stuff on my hand and let it set to see if the color changes at all while I’m there.

ESF & mrsukyankee thanks! I do have some ideas. One I'm thinking of is a burgundy and if they have different kinds of shimmer, maybe with a little gold. Im not exactly sure, but some kind of beautiful deep red. For the other I'm thinking a pinky nude/MLBB or a coral. I'm really excited for it and I'll definitely update afterwards!

For those of you getting the Ulta gc from ebates, is it being sent to you right away or at a later date when the checks are being issued. (I'm heading to Ulta this weekend and would love to use it then if possible)

I wish you hadn't posted this. I didn't know Dermstore had my beloved Bioderma Hydrabio in a two-pack. Plus a 25% off sale going right now. That stuff is so great, but I have a whole lot of other face creams to go through first. Ugh.

For those looking for Shape Tape dupes give the new Josie Marian Vibrancy concealer a try. It’s pretty high coverage and not as drying as ST. I’m liking it on my undereyes.

Ooh.  The Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation is my favorite right now, I didn't know there was a concealer too.  I don't know when I'll ever finish my Shape Tape though since I use so little.

I'm going to do a last minute 13 by Halloween project to focus on some skincare that needs to go. All the skincare in my 18 in 2018 project pan have been used, with the exception of a brightening mask that I may need to toss because I think it's turned off.

I'm wearing the norvina palette all week to figure out if I'm going to keep it or return it. I love the colors, but several bloggers are right, it takes a little extra time to work with it.

I think it just came out. I’ve been struggling with dry looking undereyes no matter what I did so I jumped on it when I saw it lol. I love the foundation too and my skin loves the argon oil. The concealer isn’t oily though but very comfortable feeling.

Staying power has been pretty good. I set it so it hasn’t creased and it’s held up in some pretty hot temps the last couple days. I didn’t completely like the look of it as an eye primer but I think I used too much. I think it’s a less is more type of concealer.

Oily but my undereyes can get dry really easily. I use Smashbox Oil Primer on that area.

Every time I try to shop in Ulta I just hate it. Nothing in stock, samples are broken (thanks for ruining my work pants Lancôme foundation), square footage gobbled up by just three brands so the brands I want to shop aren’t even carried...ARGGGHHHH.

I wish there was a better way to try and color match so I never have to walk in there again.

And as a PSA, Lancôme Teint Idole bleached my black pants. So maybe don’t put that on your face.
