The Bite Beauty lip lab was fun! It was a little different than I expected, I thought you could mix a couple different pigments together to make the color you wanted, but I still found colors I really liked. I could've gotten more than 2 lipsticks fairly easily. I went with a rosy, slightly corally color and a dark red. I'm glad I did it!

Was there a limited number of mixes you can choose from or something?
It used to that you could mix things together. Or they mixed for you. But I do remember reading something about how they changed it somehow.

I didn't ask as directly as I should've, but she kept pulling different pigments instead of blending them together. I did 4 for one shade and 3 for the other. I saw on the website that they have a new bespoke lipstick service, which I'll bet is where you can get a lot more creative. But it's something like $125.

Ah yes. I recalled they had made some changes, and this was it. They have a lip lab in SF, and I had looked into it a year or so ago, and saw they had jacked up the prices. I think it was maybe like $30-$40 a color when I did it... maybe 2 for $70 or something, and I was appalled at how much higher the prices were.

It was $55 for one or $80 for two, which is why I went with two. I'm not sure I'd do it again, but maybe a really big splurge once for the bespoke lipstick, depending on the cost of reordering.
I saw that Sephora is raising the price for Flash Shipping to $15 next year. That's just about enough to make it not worth it for me. Guess I'll need to plan my purchases more carefully and make an effort to go to the store for little last minute things.
I'm slowly working my way through my entire lipstick collection - goal is to wear everything at least once for a full day and decide if it's staying or going.
Today I'm wearing a matte lip cream and i want to tear my lips right OFF. good lord. I'm pretty sure this came from a imobviouslystaying rec (Milani Amore lip cream) and I hates it. I picked a bad color for me...looks like a pinky neutral in the tube, but dries down to a 90's brown that does me no favors, and it feels like I've got drywall spackle on my lips. I remembered not liking it, I think I even complained about it here - but I'm not sure I've ever actually left the house with it on before. I've committed to this damn thing for the day though, and by god it's staying on till I get home, but at that point GONE, IT IS GONE.
But I have discovered how much I like a few others things. Like my red wet n' wild balm stain. though fair warning on that one - the lid does NOT stay on in purses. Which I knew, but had forgotten. And I have fears that it's going away, because it's on sale on the wnw website and has less colors than they used to.
Also another habsian find - Jordana sweet cream matte -STAYS LIKE WOAH. and doesn' tfeel terrible Unlike this nonsense. Glad I dug it out - that's going into the regular rotation.

i did a challenge a few months back where i wore a different shade every day for a month. it really helped me weed out the small samples and various things i picked up via ipsy bags, promos and whatnot. there were a couple that were just awful -- i feel ya. but reading about it also makes me want to do it again, lol.

That's a really good idea. My lippie collection is out of control.

This sounds like a fun challenge once I’ve finished panning my lip palette.

I did it with my SILs and we chose February since it had the fewest days. I had more than enough to continue on though... lol. It was nice to have instant feedback on shades and of course loved a bunch that they wore so while I sorted a lot of my collection, I also eventually got a few more from their recommendations too. It was a lot of fun - if people are into it we could coordinate something similar here too!

I’m so torn. I can’t decide if I want to use my ulta points today and get that sample bag or wait for the next 20% coupon so I can get more stuff. On one hand I don’t need more samples. On the other, I don’t need more makeup;-)

I’d bet they send out a 20% during Sephora’s sale this weekend or next week.
After using the Norvina palette for 2 weeks straight, I’ve decided I’m keeping it. Some of the shadows are a pain in the neck to work with, but I have yet to get an eye look that isn’t beautiful. I mean, really beautiful. Makes me feel like I’ve actually got makeup skillz. 😋DH has commented on my eye shadow more in the last two weeks than in the last 6 months.
I know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats, waiting to hear this. Lol.

after i went to sephora to look for a naked 1 in store (and struck out, booooo) i stopped by nordstrom rack - they had tons of Urban Decay liquid lipsticks out. they must be planning to repackage or reformulate or ditch them altogether since they are on sale on nearly every website. they were 8.97 so i picked up a second of my very favorite color and a few others i've tried in the small deluxe sample size. they also had some of their skincare stuff out and regular lipstick too. the afterglow highlighter palette and the troublemaker eye palette. lorac beauty and the beast stuff and some random mac stuff too. if you are near one i recommend stopping by!

In my quest to find the products I use in Europe, I’ve realized Europe is missing out on some amazing brands. Also it’s so much more expensive here than at home, which is rare.
I’m just ordering stuff for my mom to bring for me when she visits.

Yup. That's why I moan a lot when people make recs and I know I can't get them. On the other hand, I can get some stuff here that people in the US either can't get or it's super expensive, so it works out in a way.

Ooh tell me. What’s some good brands you can get here? I know caudalie is cheaper here than North America so I am happy about that.
