My very good friend just had her second today. I am super happy for her, but I have to admit that ever since she got pregnant, I have been a bit "i dont know the word"
She and my other very good friend had their first babies around the same time (almost 3 yrs now) and every time we got together it was "you dont understand because you dont have kids". Now they both will have 2 kids, and it will be, "oh things are different when you have two"
It probably bothers me because it is annoying and also because when they both had a child, I was still deciding whether to have one or not, and now I am debating having a second.
And no, my decision to have a kid or not will not be influenced by that
Hopefully you won't get the, "you don't know because you only have one and we have two" comment from them. I can see why you'd find it annoying because it is annoying!
I don't think this is flameful at all. I find it annoying whenever anyone pulls the "oh you don't understand" card, whether it be because they have two kids or because they work two jobs or because their H is a total douche. No matter the situation, it's stupid to act like a one-upper.
Similar to you, one of my BFFs just announced that his wife is pg with #2. I felt jealous. I have no clue why. Maybe bc we are iffy on #2 but maybe deep down I really want #2 just not the responsibility (financial and otherwise) that comes with it? Or maybe I am jealous bc it was easy for them and we had to struggle to get pg?
