No plans tonight except to mow the grass. DH is working, so tomorrow a friend of mine and our kids are going to meet some other friends who are camping adjacent to a water park. We are sending the kids over to the waterpark while the parents hang by the pool. We are then going to grill steaks and hang out for a while. The glorious part of this plan is that she has a son that will drive us all over there, for his free ticket to the waterpark, and drive us home, so I can have a couple of drinks around the fire. Plus the camping experience, but yet I get to sleep in my own bed.
Sunday, hopefully church, run then nothing. I feel like I haven't cooked a meal in forever, plus I need to cook for the coming week since volleyball practice starts back up Monday.
Today I’m getting a haircut at 3:30. Pizza for dinner and a movie night at home afterwards. Tomorrow I’m taking my BFF to get a pedicure for her birthday. Sunday we are going bowling with the families who came to our house for a pool party a couple of weeks ago! I’m excited about that. The kids have never been bowling.
I was supposed to be kid free tonight and tomorrow during the day. MIL was going to take them. Instead, I have a vomiting child with a fever and I'm praying the other one doesn't catch it. So I'm house bound with the two kids. STBXH will be no where in sight because he is still in a show and decided it'll be easier to stay there all weekend instead of commuting back each day. I will be cancelling my car appointment and not accomplishing any of the chores I had planned.
Feeling a little bitter/salty and gladly taking nominations for movies and shows I should watch at night by myself.
Dropping DD for an overnight mystery activity at 4:00 so I’m hustling at work. Need to go buy meat tenderizer because DS got into fire ants at a play date yesterday and his foot is swelling through Benadryl and the ped suggested it. I will try anything as I don’t want to end up in the ER and 24 hours later he can’t wear flip flops.
Saturday DD has soccer but it MIGHT RAIN which is the best thing ever. I have to pick up school supplies at the HS, back to school shop for DS and get everything ready for Monday. And it’s MFing tax free weekend. FFFC - are most people really that stupid that they don’t realize they are saving $8 per $100 is persuasive?? I will pay more than that to valet park to avoid driving in circles for 45 minutes (not an exaggeration). Next year we are going on vaca earlier in July. Grill and swim at friends’ that night.
Sunday church, all the misc prep and prayer for the year at the school. Groceries. Uugghhhh.
DH and I had a day date while the kids are at Camp. This is the last kid-free time we will have until Sept 4th. 😳
Tomorrow DD2 has a birthday party. Otherwise, the weather is supposed to be crummy all weekend, so I imagine we will just lay low. Maybe go bowling or go see a movie.
DH is starting a new job on Monday. I know seems like he starts a new job every year.... Hopefully he will like this one though.
So per his request we are doing nothing this weekend so he can relax and de-stress. Since I get bored doing nothing I will likely go to the pool one or both days. I have a 4 day weekend because there is no camp on Monday or Tuesday and school starts Wednesday. I have 3 teacher meet and greats on Monday, so that will be exciting and also suck out all my energy. I have 2 giant boxes of the PTO supply kits that I somehow have to carry to the school. DS did offer to carry one of them.

Meeting up with some of my single mom friends who I haven't seen in Months. We're going to get a light dinner and then see The Spy Who Dumped Me.
Tomorrow, a sewing class. Going to make a knit tank top. I haven't done much sewing ever, and I feel like it would be fun to get better at it.
Sunday, PTA committee meeting. Last week we got news that we have been issued a grant (yay!) to help pay for a master plan for our school grounds. So we are going to start the next phase of planning.
Today is my last day of vacation. I gave myself a facial, deep conditioned, and took a long bath... goodbye leisure days. Until next year.
We have DDs kindergarten BBQ tonight. I got her enrolled in before/aftercare today - cutting it CLOSE! Her uniform is back ordered for 12 weeks in her size, but she’s adamant about wanting the plaid jumper, so we got her the next size up. I also assumed she’s bigger than she really is for my online orders of everything else, so I’m hopeful she gets order v2.0 before too school starts.
I also got her 6 month follow up MRI scheduled - guess who doesn’t have even the slightest shot at perfect attendance?

Ds1 has a race so we are headed to the track for the weekend. Dh will likely race too since we will be there. I’ll be taking work with me and working there. I’m praying ds2is cooperative.

To start, today was a huge day. DD also had a dance performance for her last day at dance camp, so I did some work via cell phone while getting my nails done at a near by dance studio (self care) and then went to the performance where she danced to music from Coco's Magical guitar. It was ADORABLE. Then lunch with the kids and then I went off to work and the work day was overfull and kind of crappy.
Neighborhood pool party tonight, which is over and was really fun. It's the last one of the summer (boo hoo and yahoo all at once). While we were there DS lost his 2nd tooth. He's getting so. big.
Tomorrow DS has his belt test in karate, and in the evening we'll go to a baseball game.
I'm taking next week off and am reeeeally looking forward to it, even though I can tell I'm going to have to work off and on during the week. Any time I get to spend with the kids before school starts will be worth it though, plus we'll get DS set up with meet the teacher, the enrichment activity fair and his first day of school!
I’m glad you figured out the aftercare situation, k3am!
I took the kids for haircuts this evening since I’m sure this weekend and next will be packed with people getting back to school haircuts. It was the baby’s first haircut (he’s almost 14 months) and he did great, while my 4-year-old threw a fit. I tipped his stylist a lot.
My DD turns 6 on Wednesday, so DH is surprising her with a Padres baseball game tomorrow evening, just the two of them, while I take the boys to a BBQ. We’re hosting her birthday party Sunday at our community pool. I have to get together the Lego Ninjago themed goody bags and decorations. We invited her whole kindergarten class so it’s a pretty big group, but we’ve done the same party (just with a different theme) for the last 3 years, so I feel like I’ve kind of got the formula down.
DH got back from a week in Hong Kong on Wednesday and I immediately left for a work trip. So otherwise we’re trying to relax this weekend!
This was my first weekend alone with 2 kids. My 3 almost 4 year old is testing my patience. The getting up at five every morning, whining, and telling me no all the time. I know part of it is jealously. DD takes up a lot of mommy time. And part of it is age. It is going to be a rough few months for us. I am looking forward to going back to work
Saturday I cut 12 inches off my hair and DD cut just over 8 inches and I will be shipping it off on Monday to be donated. This was DD first major haircut. She's had numerous trims but almost 9 inches is a lot. She has mixed emotions about it being 2 inches below her shoulders.
After the that we went to a baby shower event and then drove up to see my sisters new house.
Today was trampoline park and then a quiet afternoon. I also did a big garden harvest. Lots of zucchini and cucumber. Corn for dinner and a half flat of tomatoes.
