Joining the chorus of people who say it's NBD, and to keep pursuing what sounds like a great opportunity.
Calvin is currently casually job hunting at 14 months into his current position. At this point if something good comes up, he'll take it. He was in his previous position for about 8 months. The position before that was about 9 years. Totally comfortable with this.
Any update on this one? I'm curious how it has gone. I have struggled with how different industries (IT for my DH vs. Higher Ed for me) address moving through jobs/companies.
Pro boards has been banned on my work computer. Those Bastards! Then I got a new phone and the app is not finding GBCN.
Update: He just now (almost a month later) got notified that HR has approved the initial salary proposed. Which is at least 20% more that he makes now. But he is going to request a sizable sign on bonus because if he takes the job he will lose the bonus that he is supposed to get in December. He has a phone interview with HR to talk these details out on Thursday.
Oddly he leaning towards staying at his current company only because it seems this new job is dragging their feet. He is not sure how much they truly want him. Plus he is making some good progress with his new company. I also met his current team recently they seem to really like him and enjoy working with him and that feeling is mutual.
Update: He is going in for his 2nd in person interview (meet the team)today. I am a little annoyed it took them this long to call him back in. Also he found out that his promised yearly bonus with his current job has moved payment till March. Which I find seriously messed up. We where hoping that we could double dip but highly unlikely since he wouldn't want to stay till March.

I don't think it is all that uncommon for companies to drag their feet on hiring. DH hires people often, he has a position open now, that is taking forever, in large part because he has to find one day to go to England to interview the final candidates, which is tough. It is 2 days of travel, and the holidays are staring down at us, all during his busiest time of year. Now he has to go on his birthday, since there is no other time it could all get scheduled before January.
Sounds like it would be a good opportunity for your DH. I do not think there is any shame in moving after less than a year. It can be a great move, if it is not the best fit, since you can leave the short duration job off your resume entirely, provided you stay at the next one for a time. Sucking it up, just because, when you have better job prospects never gets anyone very far. DH was at the two companies prior to this one for only a year or two each. He has been at this one for 12 years, and the one before that for 12 years. They other two were just not great cultural fits, which he knew soon after coming on, but it took a bit to find the next opportunity, and once he found a good fit, he has done well, and stayed.

That is really annoying on the bonus movement. However, my last job, if you were employed on 12/31, you would receive your bonus- ours was also paid in March. Do you think that’d be the case with him as well?

I doubt it. They have gotten their bonus in December (at least all his coworkers) but they just changed the policy that now they will get in March. They do get to know much it will be in December but have to wait till March to receive it.
