Our school follows the American Pediatrics Association guidelines, so kids are not sent home. They are told no sharing of jackets, combs, hats, no touching heads or hair of others, etc. We haven’t had any lice yet. Knock on wood!
And yes, rere, you are being paranoid. But considering my head starts itching every time I read the word “lice”, I get it.

Well the big must have survived the nurse inspection because I have no calls two hours into school (and I’m still not sure if it is nits or live insects that are the determinator there TBH) but the private preschool DD2 goes to found two nits and so now we are home. My boss is like “as an employer I appreciate and dread your honesty.”
Good thing I ordered a professional level comb Friday night that should be delivered shortly. Sigh. I should have known. This is the school of the doctor note requirement for that time the kids had dermatitis and an especially bad case of big bites resulting in a $150 copay each. Two years until kindergarten.
