...my hubby and I walk out our front door and a guy who literally hates us and vaguely threatened us is getting out of his truck to visit the people across the street. We avoided eye contact, but it was like an IRL troll encounter.

Eek!
My new upstairs neighbor has been campaigning to be my best friend but I'm trying to avoid it and every time I see her it's awkward. I'm trying to avoid it because: #1- she is ALWAYS dressed up in an adorable dress, jewelry, heels and full make up. I can't compete with that. #2- I don't really believe in having friends in your building because there is nowhere to hide.

This person for sure has a personality disorder. It's a fun combo of being an arrogant jerk and wanting to save the world, but totally lacking in leadership or other skills. My hubby went on a medical trip to a third world country with him "leading" and it got BAD. Hubby basically had to take over.
We live in a townhome and on either side of us are these crazy ass girls. It's always awkward and I'd rather slam my foot in the door than have to pass by them, TBH. In fact, a few days ago I made the mistake of waving hi at one of the girls and she didn't even respond. Like, not a smile, a wave, nothing.
