Vent: I went back to work today. I have approx 473 hours of online procedural modules to complete.
Celebration: 1) all 3 kids went to a new daycare today and I am really really happy with it so far. I think this will be good especially for my toddler. 2) I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow night. Yeah!
Celebration: DH and I were able to sneak out for a quick, casual dinner on Saturday night. Great conversation, even though we strayed into some unpleasant topics.
Vent: I am even more covered in poison ivy. I couldn’t go to the dr yesterday because it’s a walk in clinic and I didn’t want to drag the kids. DH worked for part of the day, so by the time he got home, they were closed. This morning DH has an MRI scheduled, and I scheduled a play date with a girl from DD’s new school. So I will do that, then bring the kids to DH and head to the clinic. I did do the Zanfel wash, which definitely helped, but I’m getting so many new patches that I can’t keep up. I’ve gone through one tube ($47), and every other store I tried is sold out. Amazon couldn’t deliver until Tuesday.
Sorry for the poison ivy. We went campground by last week and I have some too that just popped up today. At first I thought they were just mosquito bites because it popped up as 3 separate round areas, but now it’s grown to definitely bigger than bites.
Celebrations: We had a fun vacation last week. 2 nights at an Airbnb in Milwaukee and 2 nights in a cabin at a Jellystone campground (commercial chain of campgrounds with lots of kids activities) with my sister and her family. Then 2 nights of tent camping in a state park just the 4 of us. The boys were generally pretty good and had a blast. DS1 caught his first fish. DS2 has made a huge leap in verbal ability in the past couple weeks and just started talking in phrases/sentences.
I had my first performance review at the job I started 11 months ago. Great review, no major downsides and I agree with all the comments. I knew my boss liked me but the formal validation always feels good.
saraml13 - I highly recommend the Zanfel. It helped, but I’ve been getting new patches since Friday. The old patches on my legs and feet feel better, but now I have new stuff on my feet, ankles, and thighs. Both legs are now almost completely covered, and one whole arm. Spots on the other arm. I have absolutely no idea how I managed to cover myself so completely. DH keeps asking if I was rolling around rubbing it on myself... the way it looks, he is justified asking the question.
Hoping the prednisone helps.... but really, get the Zanfel. 5 stars.
We had our Katherine Johnson birthday party on Sunday. It went pretty well. Kids watched a third of the movie before demanding food, so we had pizzas at 4pm instead of 5, and they watched another third of the movie before they were pretty much dragging each other around by the hair so we took them outside and had a stomp rocket contest (I am the best stomp rocketeer of all time). Considering the movie is a little dull for the age group, I consider it a success. Got some adorable pictures under our banner and paper lantern solar system wearing their cats eye glasses, and they loved their NASA goody bags. We also spoon fed them the social lessons so they learned something in the process.
I am exhausted! All the cleaning, food prep, decorating, goody bag gathering, etc. wore me out! DH was a trooper with a good attitude so hooray! This is why I don’t have parties at home. But they always end up being exhausting if we have them somewhere else too.
I’m making progress on a couple of back-burners projects at work, so that is helping my self esteem. I feel so ready to move on. I keep watching the internal listings.

So yesterday morning was the Mondayest Monday that ever Mondayed (at least for me, in a long time). Today school was cancelled because some of the schools lost power to more storms earlier this morning. So it's been an interesting start to the school year, to say the least. I just hope we don't end up needing a 5th day for inclement weather this winter, but I guess there's nothing that can be done if schools don't have power.
Celebrate: DD's team crushed it at the first game last night. I was dubious about them at best, but as usual, I was wrong. They do this every year. In practice, they can't get it together, then game time they are on. On set of twins couldn't get the ball to the net 30% of the time in practice, served like high schoolers last night getting about 5-6 points each serve with rockets. The other team couldn't return them.
The team we played is being coached by the guy that is all consumed with volleyball and runs the $1500 travel league. He has been practicing middle school kids both morning and evening all summer. He was not amused. We had about 4 clinics this summer and have been practicing since school started.
DD is my most consistent server. Not the hardest hitting, but she is accurate. She also had a couple of on point hits. Another game tonight. At least we have a big win under our belt.
supertrooper1 - I feel you - our oven went out last Friday, our sprinklers have a slow leak in the far back of the yard and we need a new vacuum.
And...DD now has her MRI at 5:30 and her follow up at 8:00 Thursday morning before school. Between that and golf I am losing my mind. I started work at 6:00 again and still Can’t get to feeling caught up.
Buying dinner out again too because I won’t be here to cook. Ugh.
