Because my H is concerned.
DD1, 6 and a half, goes through these periods where she will wet the bed one or more times a week for a a few weeks and then go back to normal. H is worried. I think this is in the realm of normal.
DD’s bladder wasn’t processing urine correctly but she mostly outgrew that. The new issue is intermittent constipation. When the pressure is there she wets; when it’s not she doesn’t. We were doing benefiber but now only use it when needed. Magic.

I don't know if it's normal or not, but DS (just over 6) does the same. We find that it tends to be a combination of drinking lots of water in the hour before bed and being over-tired and too sound asleep. I'm not worried enough to do anything about it.

DS age 6.5 still wears a pull up. He consistently is wet at night and I've been told that's normal through some super old age that I can't remember. Like 12 or something crazy. Whatever the age was, I was shocked because I had heard 7 some place else. Maybe on here?
Anyway, you can get alarms to try to help older kids not wet the bed, but we haven't yet. DS started asking about it just this week and I told him not yet while school was just starting. It may be something we start doing in the near future.
I hear normal up until a certain age, and then after that take them into the doctor. DS is 7 almost 8 and still occasionally wets his shorts maybe like once every 3 months or so.
As far as the constipation issue it definitely caused problems with DD, and she was on miralax for a long time. She outgrew a lot of the constipation, but she still isn't great. Also just making sure they sit long enough to get all the pee out. It is common to pee than poop then still have more pee at the end. Have her lean forward at the end of going to the bathroom and see if there is anything left.
DD, 6, is still wet almost every night. Our doc said he won’t worry until closer to 8. I’m trying not to worry, but truth be told, I’m worried. DS has been dry at night since he was 3. He’s younger and I know it bothers DD that her little brother is out of pull ups and she’s not.
DD wet the bed until 8. We were told not to try to really address it, she couldn't help it. It usually follows a family pattern and the doc asked if one of us wet the bed until a certain age. That would indicate the age she would stop. Dh was all like, "I have no idea who in my family wet the bed." I was telling his older sister about it and she said he wet the bed until 8. She remembers because she had to wash the sheets. Low and behold, DD stopped at 8.

I didn’t mean to post and run!
I don’t think she is constipated. She actually had an abdomen X-ray a while back to check for it (turns out her baby/toddler acids reflux hasn’t ever really left) and was fine.
I suspect she is just a heavy sleeper and will outgrow it. I was putting something away in her room the other night, dropped a whole stack of CDs 4 feet from her bed and she didn’t twitch. My brother had this issue until around 7ish and also sleeps like the dead.
DS is 8 and just got put on medication to stop bed wetting (he has never had a dry night in his life). It does follow family patterns, my brother wore a pull up until he was 8 or 9. The medication that DS is on his called DDAVP and is a hormone that is naturally produced in the body.
FWIW, DD was the opposite and stopped wearing a pull-up at night at age 2.
