At a glance, it looks kind of crazy, but really, I only need to "do" something Mon (take DS to soccer) & Thu, the other 3 days DH will be doing his own thing, so I'm hoping it will work out o.k.
I haven't signed up for a "thing" since I was...IDK, maybe 12? LOL. I'm really looking forward to having an activity of my own to go to!
momin2013 , That is a great idea. I need to do something for myself as well but I am too busy to fit it in. Unfortunately DJh works 2nd shift hours so I am 100% on after school most days. The days DH is off, he is coaching or at a soccer board meeting or whatever. I do need to find something though.
Yeah, cjcouple, I'm hoping it's not more trouble than it's worth and we don't all end up exhausted by the schedule, but I'm looking forward to finally feeling like I'm doing something for me, even just one night a week. If I couldn't do that, I'd try to fit in even going for a walk by myself if possible once a week; maybe that would work for you, say even on the weekend? I really think the key is making it part of the weekly schedule, so everyone knows that's "your" time, KWIM?
I actually do walk with friend off and on but it is not scheduled or consistent. It might be 3 days in a row one week and then nothing for weeks. Then a night and another 10 days before we go again. But you are inspiring me. I need to just schedule it on the calendar. Once I have the boys fall schedules, I will look at and see when I can fit something in.
Even if you can't make the timing work with your friend every time, get it on the calendar and if she makes it, great, if not, you get a walk by yourself!
We should have a check in so it holds me accountable and brings a little life to the board. Can you tell I am trying? lol Post created cjcouple Post created cjcouple Post created cjcouple Post created cjcouple
We only have to do parent pick-up at school one day as compared to two last year, so that seems a lot easier to me. It's going to be rough early in fall, but once soccer ends it should be fine. Soccer does start up again in April for the spring season, but by then dance will mostly be over.
Monday: DD1 (4th grade) soccer practice (until end of October). DS (second) may also start to have Monday practice.
Tuesday: DD1 & DS start piano, but not until October. So, there's about a month of overlap with soccer. I might delay piano another week or two.
Wednesday: DD3 (3 years old) goes to preschool in the morning. DD2 (kinder) has dance until 5:30 and I need to take her. DD1 & DS have soccer practice starting AT 5:30 (same day/time worked out AWESOME by pure luck). I am figuring out places for the older two to go or sitters to come every week until soccer ends (through October) so that they can get to practice with friends. I will drive them home.
Thursday: DD3 goes to preschool in the morning. Have to pick the kids up from school and drive DD1 and friends straight to dance, but we don't have to stay long this year. Another parent will drive home.
Friday: DD3 is going to a morning gymnastics class. Usually nothing after school. DD1 has Girl Scouts about once a month, but that's just right after school, at school.
Saturday: Soccer games until end of October. This will be crazy. DD2 has a game at 1:00 every week (combined practice and scrimmage). DD1 & DS will play at different times/places in the morning.
Sunday: DD1 and DS have Faith Formation 9 to 10ish.
DD2 will probably do Daisies if they have a troop, but that should also be easy--like right after school and only once a month or so.

I am so glad my 8-year-old bailed on soccer this year. Practice/games 3x a week, plus the one afternoon DS has kick n chase sounded miserable to me. So instead we have:
Mon: DD sewing class Thur: swimming for both kids Fri: DS kick n chase Sat: DD theater class
So, not so bad. DD really wants to do gymnastics, but I’m feeling like we’re full. Plus activities for two now is $$$.
DD (8)- swimming lessons Mondays, competitive gymnastics T, W, Th, Saturday, wants to add skating Sundays DS (9)- swimming lessons Mondays, Ninja Warrior class Tuesdays, wants to try soccer again, so maybe a Saturday clinic, BUT starting Oral Immunotherapy 1x most weeks 3 hours from home in October (if it works!), so that is it for him!
My time is from 5-6:30 am at the gym. Sad, but true. I am starting to run and training for my first 5k, so that makes me make time for myself to run outside after work or on the weekends at normal times (got dark and creepy running with friends outside quickly at 5:15 am). It was hard at first, but now I say I am going for a run and they are all excited for me.
I haven’t been consistent for long periods of time (because I didn’t take the advice given here and went back to school 😬) but I have discovered that I love kickboxing! I aim workout the kickboxing gym three times a week.
DD does Girl Scouts every other week and karate once a week. DS2 is too young for activities (thank goodness). DH trains for spartan races three days a week before I go to work. He is doing the trifecta this year and some how convinced me to do the shortest one (between3-5 miles) with him this fall!
Pretty crazy and I’m on the board at DS2’s school, room parent and committee chair for DS1. So that means lots of PTA meetings and monthly evening meetings.
M: swim for DS1 T: swim for DS2, art for DS1 W: swim for both kids Th: swim for DS2, garden club for DS1 F: soccer for DS1, music and gymnastics for DS2 (he stays home from preschool on Fridays) S: soccer game DS1, gymnastics for DS2 with DH
We will likely stop Wednesday swimming at the end of September as we swim year round outside here and their lessons are late afternoon that day. DS1 will probably do tennis then.

We haven’t scheduled much yet lol!
All three kids will have karate at some point, but I need to get on it. Emma has girls on the run Wednesday and Friday afternoons and chorus tuesdays, Drew has soccer Saturday morning. Julia is doing band, orchestra and chorus, but they’re all during the school day, and computer club at school Thursdays. She’ll do the play, which means 5 day a week rehearsal after school until 6 from January through March, but her school is across the street from our house, so there’s really no impact on my schedule at all (other than losing my live in babysitter lol).
Because of the campaign I’ve purposely kept our schedule light because I need time for canvassing in the late afternoons and on weekends.

This is awesome actually. I kind of love it! Way to make “you” a priority!

Dd1 - Wednesday night church, Saturday morning ballet Dd2 - Monday morning gymnastics, Tuesday prek and choir, Thursday prek, may add swim on fridays Dd3 - nothing yet, may add swim on Tuesday
Dd1 needs to add swim, but I need her to be a decent human in the evening first and she is so tired after school, it’s ridiculous.
