I have the actual Instant Pot 6 qt from the first year they went crazy on Amazon (2 years ago?). I think it's the "7 in 1." It's been fine for us and we have four kids. I mean, I suppose if you are buying new, you could go bigger, but I haven't needed extra room yet.
I have made things like burrito bowls, Instant Pot spaghetti, rice, some chicken dishes, a beef roast a couple times, plain cooked chicken breasts. I did hard boiled eggs recently and that worked great! I really like having it, but I still do use my crock pot if I plan ahead enough.
Ok. So my mom got me one of these a few months ago and I’m a former chef, minimalist in the kitchen, Dutch oven for life, never really liked the slow cooker, hate these gimmicky gadgets. I love the insta pot! For certain things like soups/stews. I’m not cooking pasta in it or baking a cheese cake but it achieves an all day stew, chili, soup in a half hour. I made a beef stew today in 30 minutes and the meat was so tender. We had a spicy Korean chicken dish last night and again it took about 30 minutes (insta pot set to 20 min but the timer doesn’t count down till it comes up to heat). The chicken was so tender and the broth so flavorful.
Edit: Brand is Instant Pot and I think it’s the 6 quart which is plenty big for us serving 4-6 people.
gastro, can you link to the Korean chicken recipe? I got an Instant Pot last year and I like it, but have only made a few recipes in it. I’d love some suggestions!

No recipe. My mom is Korean so she stocks my kitchen with all the right spices. Basically it’s just a whole chicken cut into eights. Skin off in the pot with potatoes and onions. Hot red pepper, salt, a big splash of fruit juice (like peach), chicken broth about 70% covering the chicken. We eat it with rice and a fresh cucumber or radish kimchi.

Yum sounds delicious! My H is Korean, maybe he can improvise it based on your recipe! 😊
