Backordered Backpack

Shouldn't they offer me SOMETHING for this???

I ordered DD's backpack from PBK on August 13. It said backordered and expected around September...5?? or something like that. That was fine. We started school super late this year, so I figured she'd have it before school started or a little after. No biggie. She was willing to wait. 

I emailed them on the 5th b/c I hadn't heard anything about the backpack. Just got a reply today that they are sorry, but it's now backordered until DECEMBER. Seriously? I am now debating cancelling vs waiting and have to talk to DD. She really liked the one she ordered.

Ridiculous! Depending how much my kid liked it, I might get a cheap one for temporary use but would want to cancel of I could find another one.

I would let your dd decide but I agree, free shipping, a coupon code, something should have been offered!

Yeah, that's crazy. Maybe get her another one for this year, and when that one comes just put it away (maybe she'll have forgotten about it by then anyway?) and bring it out as a surprise for next school year?
