This incident is no biggie, and DD is fine. It just makes me sad. Kindergarten brings a lot of "firsts," often including the first social jolt of other kids not including them.
DD2 chose the art station for free play at K yesterday. She took a paper fishie to put in the bowl (their system) but the 2 girls that were there said she couldn't do art, b/c they were having "girl time." DD said, "But I"m a girl" but they ignored her and pulled the table so there wasn't room for someone else to sit. My poor sweetheart! Then she found the Lego station and had fun there with the boys, so that was good.
I know they all have to go through this stuff, but it still hurts my heart.

I know how you feel. I saw a meme one time that something like, "Just know that if you've ever hurt me, my mom knows. And she doesn't like you." LOL. Sometimes I hold onto the hurt more than the kids do.

It's such a bummer when stuff like that happens.
This past summer DS' best friend was walking down the street by our house with her mom, and they stopped to chat for a minute. It came out that they were on their way to a bbq/party at a neighbour's house down the street. After they left, DS looked at me and asked, "I wonder why I wasn't invited to the party?" Man, that broke my heart.
UGH! Gotta love the boys being drama free LOL. My DD is back with a little girl who she started with in 2 year old preschool and I haven't liked her since (they are 8). We requested them apart one year because the stories were too much. Even though I know there is almost always that girl or that kid, I needed it to be a different kid. AND, her mom teaches at their school. AWKWARD
