I think we've talked about this before but it's been a while.
As I mentioned in the weekly thread, I finally gave up on Patrick Rothfuss writing the last book in the Kingkiller Chronicles series and started to read The Name of the Wind. It made me start thinking about how many unfinished series I'm waiting impatiently for, and I thought many of you are probably in the same boat.
So, what book(s) can't you wait to see written/published? Is there an estimated date?
I'm really excited that there is a publication date for Lethal White, the 4th book in Robert Galbraith's/JK Rowling's Cormoran Strike series. It comes out next week! 9/18. I had borrowed the first 3 from the library, but I broke down and ordered this one for Kindle.
I'm annoyed that Diana Gabaldon is taking forever* to finish Go Tell the Bees that I Am Gone, the 9th book in the Outlander series. Her web site says she hopes to finish the writing by the end of 2018.
I'm extremely disgruntled that GRR Martin seems to have totally abandoned the A Song of Ice and Fire series in favor of doing anything else that comes his way. This web site says The Winds of Winter was once estimated to be published in 2014! Here we are in late 2018 and he still doesn't even have an estimate. (It also says he once asked Stephen King how he writes so fast.)
*forever = 4 years, since book 8 was published in 2014. She's still on way better footing than Martin.
The only other one, besides Patrick Rothfuss' series, that I have been waiting forever on is Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series. The last book he published was in 2013 and the next one still doesn't have a publication date. Oh and I guess the next Outlander book too but it's only been 4 years waiting for that and that's par for the course apparently for her.
Other books that I am looking forward to that are coming up: Lethal White (#4 in the Comoran Strike series) by Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling - Sept 18th Archangel's Prophecy (#11 in the Guild Hunter series) by Nalini Singh - Oct 30th The Winter of the Witch (#3 in the Winternight trilogy) by Katherine Arden - Jan 8th Devil's Daughter (#5 in the Ravenels series) by Lisa Kleypas - Feb 26th Storm Cursed (#11 in the Mercy Thompson series) by Patricia Briggs - Mat 5th
And like 3 different books from Ilona Andrews because they write crazy fast and I love everything they put out.

I am always anxious for the next-in-series Captain Lacey book to come out. And those are drop everything books as soon as they hit my Kindle. Though I think release dates should be based local time, not US time -- if a book is supposed to come out on September 16, it should hit my Kindle on September 16 where my Kindle is, not where-ever the Amazon server is.
I am also really excited about the next-in-series Murder Most Unladylike book. I love Daisy & Hazel.
Other than those, I generally wait for the paperback editions to be released of my series, or until the Kindle price is reasonable.
I like the Viveca Sten’s Sandhamn Murders series and like I mentioned in the other post I had heard there are 2-3 more out in Sweden but we are only at #6 in the US. They are great to read when I want a mystery but nothing too heavy and but they are not as light as a cozy. Plus I like reading about Sweden. Amazon’s been putting out a couple a year but just add them all already!
I’m still sad that Sue Grafton died before finishing the Kinsey Millhone books. I loathed Y and now there will be no Z! I had read those since middle school and my mom had read them since the mid-80s so we’d always discuss them when new ones came out. I really need a new woman detective series.
I don't have a good memory of books after I read them, so I finally stopped Diana Gabaldon's books, and will read the last however many all at once whenever the last one is published. Has she said how many more she wants to do?

I don't think she has said how many there will be.
