Thank you!! Captain Catnip, was this from you? The kids are overjoyed by the chocolate. And my 8 year old is super excited about the pickle. Also, the Santa hat on the pickle is killing me. The heart is perfect.

Yep, it was me. I assume you saw the giftbag was for whoever finds the pickle? If you didn't look I made sure it was something shareable so there are no arguments. I thought it needed a Santa hat to be a Christmas pickle.

Oh you're the best. I didn't look at it because I had an audience, but that was really thoughtful.

I hope you get to try the candy, too. The little box has the flavors on the bottom. They are from a local place.
Thank you shortcake2675 ,! I read the note while the big kid was talking and the little one was screaming, so I totally missed what was in the snowflake until I sat down like 10 minutes later and did a complete double take! It's amazing and I love it.

When you said you liked skulls, I couldn’t resist. If it gets wonky, you can spritz it with water and leave it to dry weighted down, but I sent it in the bag to hopefully keep it dry in between holidays.
Our super sweet host made me a thank-you ornament for doing next to nothing- what a gig.
Look at this adorable kitten! shortcake2675 does some absolutely fantastic embroidery work. I love his little (not pictured) butt patch, too- I never think to label mine, next year!
mala, how did you start your own knitting group? How did you get members?
Short answer: facebook - posting in our community group
Long answer: I worked at a cafe, picked a date and time that wasn't super busy, and put it up on the cafe FB page. I don't work at the cafe any more, so I have a FB group for local crafters, & I post links to it on the community FB page. The day before we meet up I make sure to post both the crafting group and the community FB group to try to get more people involved. The cafe got rid of the couches where we used to knit (WHAT THE HELL) and now we're looking for a new place to go, so we were at Panera this week. We called and asked and they were totally fine with it (ok, crazy-cakes who tried to move my knitting group called them but whatever). We might try Starbucks and a local bar, too, or just move it every week. Haven't decided yet - I'll probably check with the bar before we go there regularly, we'll just show up to Starbucks. I tried to word the event invite in such a way to make it clear that it was open to a wide range of people, any kind of fiber craft, any age, and it would be ok to bring kids. I have had much more traction since I started the FB group and posting in the community page. Be prepared for a lot of people who show up once and never again. I had to come to grips with the fact that most people don't seem to stick with it.

Captain Catnip I am NOT speaking from experience, but what about something like Nextdoor? Posting on the Panera or other location’s community board. The other option would be meetup.
I received all these little beauties from someone named Denise. I’m not sure what her user name is but would love to thank her! They are so tiny. My daughter is obsessed with the pink and blue stripy ones.

Yay! They got there. (I was worried with the Postal stuff going on up there...) I'm glad you and your daughter like them.

audette those are adorable! After seeing these and drloretta 's sweater ornaments, I am determined to learn how to knit one. But I have to know, where are those cute hangars from?
I found the hangers at Michaels a couple years ago. It was near their steam-punky stuff, and I think they were intended as paperclips. But they were way too perfect for this.
