ewall- I hope your DD does well at daycare!! That went fast! Your week sounds great! Sorry about the DH issues...totally know the feeling and it’s frustrating.

Tomorrow is my sister's 40th birthday and I still haven't gotten her a gift, lol. I won't see her for a couple weeks and she's at Disney anyways right now so I'm sending her card tomorrow from the kids, but I wanted to get her something. I have no idea what. I can't spend too much and we aren't super close but it's a big birthday. Then again, she's at Disney so.. lol. Any ideas?
I've been fighting whatever everyone else caught and it might finally be dragging me down. No fever but my throat has been killing me for a while and it almost looks scratched which is weird. I'm feeling pretty blah today so we'll see if I need to get into the doctor. We have a clinic here but when I try to make an appointment on the app it says there's nothing for the next month. So idk what's going on with that!
If I'm feeling better we might take a little day trip this weekend. There's a cute little town maybe an hour and a half away with a nice state park I haven't been to since I was a kid and a sculpture garden. We drove through there in March on our way home from Wisconsin Dells and H has been wanting to go there ever since!

ewall, good luck with baby's first day of daycare! luv2rn4fun, I just made flu shot appointments for my kids too. I was proud of myself for remembering in September1 estrellita, sorry you're fighting illness! We're still trying to kick the cold we got last week. So annoying!
Still having a hard time adjusting to working again. I feel like I spent all weekend just preparing to survive another week and there was no time for doing anything that I actually *wanted* to do. Plus, G still has a pretty bad cold so he was extra needy which complicated a lot. I did get dinner for tonight prepped last night, so it just needs to go in the oven. I also made both mine and both kids lunches for the week, so I hope that makes our evenings a little less crazy. Packing lunch is the chore I hate the most for some reason.

Busy week! Tomorrow is DH's birthday and we don't have anything planned, we never went out for a joint birthday dinner this weekend with everyone being sick, so we might go out tomorrow or we might wait until later in the week when we can go out by ourselves.
T's baptism is on Sunday and we're hosting everyone here at the house for lunch afterwards....so we've been busy buying/making food and still have more to do the end of the week. Family starts coming in on Thursday and will be here through Monday.
R starts a new class at the rec center on Wed it's a combo music/soft bounce play time class.
We're hoping our roof installation is rescheduled for later this week.

Yes ewall that was me. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. It’s so mentally draining to be that person who deals with the finances, bill pay, landlords, apppintments. Just mentally draining. I hope this passes quick for you too!
Busy week ahead, hubs has a week long class for a Certification, along with work, so we will see each other for probably between 1-3 hours total until Sunday. I started a new seasonal job for a little extra cash to beef up our savings, efund, house fund & retirement accounts. So between my 2 jobs and hubs job and classes it’ll be a low key September!
It’s still so bloody hot here, it’s annoying. We can’t be outside yet, it’s still 90 degrees with ALL the humidity, yuck! It’s September damnit lol
In about a month we go on actual vacation and I’m so excited to be away for a week!!

estrellita- hope you feel better soon! That’s exactly how mine started 1.5 weeks ago. It hit worse almost a week in- so frustrating. Still not 100% but I was able to run 5 miles today and it’s been a “normal” day filled with running, grocery shopping, team mom duties, working for my dad, etc and I actually feel ok energy wise (little more tired but not bad considering how busy it has been today). C still coughs randomly and L told me this morning he has boogers 🤣
Blue Moon- usually I am not this on top of it. L has his 2 year appointment next weds and I actually pushed to have them done sooner (C won’t be at the appointment anyways and they have shot clinics that started two weeks ago) because of his asthma. I just called my doctor today and found out they have the shots now so I need to get in for myself too sometime soon (I asked Wa.lmart this weekend and our HMO doesn’t cover it at a pharmacy). Maybe Friday...

Everyone had a case of the Mondays today at school.
I got a phone call for an interview as a dispatcher for the fire department today. I interview for that October 4th.
Apparently we don’t have school Wednesday.
DH shocked me the other day by telling me he wants to workout at the gym! I’m going to see if he wants to go Wednesday to check it out before I upgrade my membership to include him.

H just said strep is going around his work and I know there was exposure at daycare.. I better not have that again! Lol. I would think I'd be feeling a lot worse though since every time I've had it I've been completely miserable and feverish. I might go into the quick clinic at our grocery store tonight and get checked out if I have time before they close. Got stuck at work a little late and I'm just waiting for H to leave work now.
Hi all. Busy busy this week. Today was all school. Lots of material to get through and I'm not done yet. Tomorrow I have an ultrasound in the morning, and local NP meeting in the evening. Will have to finish this week's school stuff tomorrow afternoon.
Work Wed, Thurs, Friday. Off Saturday but I think we may be hosting a game watching party? For A&M vs Bama. I kind of hope not because I really need Saturday to work on next week's school stuff. Working Sun, which is also the first day of the full moon, shoot me now.
M - G had a dentist appointment, lunch with MIL, mall with my mom in the afternoon T - play date in the am. MIL invited herself to that as well so I'm guessing she'll be with us most of the day. W - storytime at the library Th - visiting my grandma F - Having a playdate with a friend that just started school this year. He has Friday off so we are getting in a playdate (and mom date!) while we can. We miss these friends!
S - cousin's 1st birthday party, DH has a company softball game but is talking about skipping it Su - cousin's 3rd birthday party
DH came home today saying he was told at work they would be working Saturdays until further notice. Ugh. It will help us with some financial goals but man it sucks when he works 6 days a week.

I'm waiting at the doctor for a strep test. My weight was lower than I feel it should be for how I eat 😆 For real though, it was nice to be pleasantly surprised by the scale for once!
ETA: No strep. Apparently there is a virus going around that acts like strep. I figured it wasn't since I didn't have a fever. Still.. my throat is killing me!
Thanks for asking! A little better. I got some throat spray which helps a LOT. I forgot about that stuff.. I used to use it when I was younger. Totally numbs my throat! If this is the same thing both kids had, I can totally understand why they weren't eating well!

I had a bit of a meltdown earlier when I saw that the bills for R's cardiologist visit are coming in and they are WAY higher than I expected. My bills from T's delivery are already more than expected, plus we have the cost of the unexpected house renovations, plus I don't have my teaching job right now, and basically I feel like we just can't catch a break.
And then I basically told myself to STFU and be grateful that I have 2 healthy kids, had an uncomplicated delivery, that our house is livable and will eventually be fixed, and that we can take care of all our needs. And also, payment plans exist for a reason.

((Hugs)) HoneySpider. That’s a lot all at once. Sorry things are so tight and stressful and I hope things look brighter soon (although your attitude is amazing, totally normal to feel overwhelmed right now).
Post by HoneySpider on Sept 19, 2018 9:45:14 GMT -5
ewall and luv2rn4fun, thanks! I wasn't going to tell DH about the new bills until today (since yesterday was his birthday) but it was weighing on me so I did....and he was amazingly more calm about it than I was. We reminded ourselves that sometimes you have a tough year financially...last year was good for us, this is a rough one. As long as they're not all rough we'll be ok
My new roof is going on as we speak! Although being home while it's happening probably isn't a good idea because it's causing me anxiety lol. We just got home and driving up I could see that there are 2 huge holes in the roof right now. And even though we are in the basement, it's so loud it makes me think the whole house is just going to collapse in (I know it won't obviously). Can't wait to have it done and to get the interior repairs scheduled.
HoneySpider Sorry about all of the financial stress. It majorly sucks when a bill comes in much higher than what you were expecting. So glad your roof is getting repaired!! That will be a huge task to get off of your list!

Ugh, HoneySpider financial stress is the worst. I’m so glad your H was so calm for you. That’s so great. I’m also glad your roof is finally being repaired!!

After taking 1.5 weeks off due to a cold, I have run the last 5 days! I have 27.6 miles for the week so far, which is a new record, and I plan to run with my dad on Sunday. If that happens it will be the first time since 2012 or 2013 that I have run more than 30 miles in a week!
