morning, all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We went down to the coast for a weekend with friends and had a great time. Weather was perfect. S was dealing with a cold most of the time, but he did great. He fell off a toy and got some serious road rash on his face, poor guy.
Yesterday AM he had a huge breakfast, but other than that he really did not want to eat during the day. He had a quarter PBJ and cottage cheese and fruit. That was it. Refused chicken nuggets, edamame, crackers, chicken, eggs, etc. Drank tons of water. But literally would take anything else and throw it on the ground. I am hoping he is just teething or maybe his throat hurts so he only wants soft things right now; I fear that he is all of a sudden super picky! Today he refused eggs again and had grapes and yogurt for breakfast.
Other than that he is doing great, lots of chatting, he had a great time with our friends and their kids and has been sleeping really well.
Good morning! I'm 3dp5dt and just waiting until I can test (I'm trying to hold out until Wednesday). I had an irrational emotional outburst at DH last night so maybe I am pregnant? lol
Other than that, we had a good weekend. Saturday was our monthly date night and we went to a Sox game and made an appearance at a party. My mom babysits for these monthly dates, and while our relationship can be a bit strained and she drives me CRAZY Cal really seems to adore her (and he's pretty stingy with his affection towards people other than me ha).
He's starting to drive me crazy with the playful hitting and kicking though. He's not doing it out of anger (he thinks he's being funny), but it still hurts and whenever we get stern and try to correct him ("OWW! no hitting! that hurts mama. please use gentle hands" etc) he just laughs and continues. He was making me so angry yesterday that I gave him the cold shoulder for a bit which is super mature lol. Toddlers man!

I took DS to a festival this weekend. He was in a great mood. Had lots of fun and he was obsessed with my empty beer bottle and people were getting a kick out of him walking around and taking swigs out of the empty bottle. Although...I did notice some people taking pics so who knows where in cyber space those are now. Anyway--randomly he got upset and was flipping a lid. We had to leave. It was SUPER embarrassing. We basically ran to the car with him while he screamed. I still have no idea why he got so upset. Kids, man.
You guys, I have been sick for 2.5 week straight and I am feeling so mentally defeated. First it was a multi-day migraine. Then a 6 day stomach bug. That overlapped with my current cold/sinus infection? that is on day 11. I am beat. I am congested and have a bad headache with the cold. The mid-last week my face started hurting. The whole right half of my face feels like I got beat up, bruised or sore or something. My primary care doc called it a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics. But several days of taking that and I am still miserable. I have to get better eventually right? Baby day is 2 weeks away and I am so scared of going through surgery and newborn sleeplessness while already feeling this crummy.
I called my primary care again today and talked to the MA. Once she realized I was pregnant it's like she disengaged and just said I should call my OB. I just want someone to tell me what is wrong with me. All the OB's MA tells me is that it is ok for me to take sudafed, just a little. But then the pharmacist tells me that sudafed can raise your blood pressure, and I'm already going to the hospital for NSTs twice a week due to my blood pressure, so it seems like I shouldn't be messing with that.
I am truly just a vessel for this baby. Everyone's reaction is basically just shrug, sorry you're hurting.

I'm sorry you feel so terrible mpc. Hopefully you can kick it soon and get better before baby arrives. Crossing my fingers for you scm1011!
Guys, my baby turned 6 months old yesterday. Where is the time going? He's also on his second GI bug since he started daycare 2 months ago. He started with vomiting up everything he ate on Saturday, and now it's turned into diarrhea. The call nurse on Saturday said there is a nasty GI infection running around and it's hitting California hard right now. Said it's short lived, so hopefully he's better soon. I'm running out of sick time and I hate taking so much time off work.
That sounds miserable, mpc, I'm sorry. I hope it passes soon.
kellikans, poor baby! Those first several months of daycare are brutal. It DOES get better. I remember how anxiety-inducing it was to have to miss so much work on top of seeing your baby struggle. I hope he's feeling better soon.
mpc, I teared up reading that--it is so hard to deal with chronic pain while pregnant. It was really overwhelming. I hope you get some relief soon. kellikans, we have a GI bug going on around here, too. I hope he feels better soon. I also can relate to the PTO. I used 100 hours of PTO by May of this year because of all of S's sick days. It sucks. Plus it is hard to see your baby sick.
I still have all the same complaints I did yesterday, but I'm not feeling as miserable, so I really hope that means I'm turning the corner. I'm ready to be "well" again!
Anybody know what you're going to do for halloween? Target is having a sale on costumes today only but the one I wanted to get for DS doesn't appear to be on sale. Boo.
We're doing a superheroes theme. E will be Superman (I got the toddler one from Target for $9.11, score!) And Dh is wearing a caped Batman tshirt. And I'm wearing a Wonder Woman-esque getup from Motherhood that says "Super Pregnant" because why not?
mpc, less miserable is good! FX you've turned the corner.
I haven't figured out a halloween costume yet. I know Cal will not let us put anything on his head, and most costumes seem to have a vital hat/hood component so I'm a bit stumped.

I don't know about Halloween. I wanted H to be a witch, I thought that would be so cute. But then I asked her what she wanted to dress up as and she said a cookie. Which I also think would be cute. Then she saw a Bubble Guppies episode about costumes and Molly was dressed up as a princess and she said she wanted to be a princess like Molly.
I figured I'd show her pictures of a few costumes and ask her which one she wants, but I have a suspicion my tiny girly girl will choose the princess.

I think E is going to be a farmer girl and ride in her wagon. I need to go to the baby consignment shop and see if I can find some overalls and a plaid shirt.
We had speech today and her therapist thinks she making some progress, which I agree with. Next week I'm taking her sippy cups in and we're going to troubleshoot why she dribbles so much. I'd like to get her better with them before winter so she's not walking around with a wet shirt all the time.

We're doing lions and tigers and bears. Leo will be the lion (duh), and DH and I will be the tiger and bear. I just need to find costumes for the two of us.
E started rolling this weekend. My parents watched him Friday and Saturday night since we were out of town for a friends wedding. My mom called me 10 mins after I left to let me know he rolled. Come on! I was a wreck Friday night but slowly got over it lol. He has not stopped rolling since, wants to do it everywhere.
E is going to be a skunk, I got the pottery barn skunk costume off of a BST group. He also has a shark costume as a back up/who knows why. He had a third but i returned it lol. The holidays are going to be so different this year. Sappy moment but I never thought I'd get to go through all the cheesy sappy holiday traditions with my own little guy.

mpc, hope you feel better soon!!! Huge hugs, lady!
Not much going on here...we were in DC for a long weekend from last Thursday until yesterday, so that was nice. Did a lot of sightseeing, hanging out, spending family time together. It was so nice and very much needed.
As for Halloween, G is going to be an owl. I'm currently making his costume now (finally got all the feathers cut out!), and will likely finish sewing it this weekend. I'm making owl masks for J and I, because I'm too lazy to make the full adult costumes as well.
T is going to be Peter Pan, I’m going to be Wendy, and DH will be Captain Hook. He’s also angling for my dad to be Mr Smee, my mom to be Nana the dog, and my nephew to be tinker bell 😂.
We do not do much for Halloween since S is only 1 and we do not get trick or treaters. But I will dress him up as a train conductor for daycare since we have everything for it already, lol.
Can we do a halloween thread with pictures on halloween??
A will be dressed up as Blippi. Halloween was a massive fail last year, so this year I bought her a costume she'll at least like and wear even if she hates the trick or treating. We've already had several prep conversations about it, and she's keen on the emphasis that we don't go inside the houses, haha.

Even at almost 2 years old I totally well up with stuff like this. Last weekend I took DS on a train ride in our local park and I started tearing up thinking that a few years ago I thought I might never get to experience these small things with a kid of my own.
DS is going to be a pirate this year. The costume is not great, but I got it used for like $6. Halloween is on a Wed so I felt no need to go all out. As far as I know we have no weekend Halloween plans this year. If something comes up last minute I do actually have an old pirate costume I could wear too.

E's blood draw was successful this morning! Hydration and daddy holding for the win. We went out to breakfast after and she just loved her eggies, toast, and potatoes. I think she ate more than me!

I want to see all those little costumes! I'm scheduled to work on Halloween, trying to decide if I want to do a simple cat ear headband and whiskers, or get one of those shirts with the baby skeleton on the tummy! Of course, I'm due 11/4, so there's a little chance she could already be here, in which case I will immediately send my H out to get one of those adorable pumpkin onesies I keep staring at in the baby section, haha!
Still plugging along over here in week 33. Baby is breech lately, hoping she will flip and doing some spinning babies stuff to try to encourage it. Anyone have experience with a breech baby and getting them to turn? Or anyone have experience with a manual version? It makes me nervous to consider trying that, reading the stats on it suggest it's only like 55% successful, and for a first time mom who has a version only 30-something % end up with a vaginal delivery anyways. Still some time to see what happens but it's preoccupying my thoughts.

C was breech all the way to the end. I saw a chiropractor a few times but decided against the version. We scheduled the C section and, while I was a little disappointed not to experience labor, it was actually a very positive experience. During the C sectionthe doctor actually commented that there was no way he would have turned; he was wedged up into a corner or something.
turboteal, 33 weeks! YAY! S was breach until about 33 weeks as well--actually more transverse. He was SO ACTIVE (indication of what was to come, I guess, lol) and just flipped on his own one day. I could totally feel it and when we went to the doctors for our next appointment they were like, yup, he is head down!

I decided not to give H any other options for Halloween costumes, so she is getting this costume:
If I was really nice, I would have given her the option of dressing up as Minnie Mouse, but I know she would have chosen it, and I am not a Minnie Mouse fan. The cookie will be way funnier!
A is doing SO well in gymnastics! I don't mean she's the best in the class - far from it, haha. She's always getting tripped up on her long legs. But she is listening really well to the coach, she's not clinging to me or anything, she's willing to try anything, and she doesn't freeze up around the other kids. This gives me so much hope for a successful entry to her new preschool.
