If you had to choose a job that is very, very different from what you do now, but you would get paid exactly what you were making at your current job, what would you choose?
I think I would want to be therapist. Although I would want to make more than what I make now doing that. It was actually a career I considered, but was to afraid to pursue due to family pressure.

A floral designer for weddings. I know nothing about flowers except that they are pretty and I love them. And wedding flowers are so gorgeous, and who doesn't want to make a happy couple even happier on their wedding day?!

Yoga/dance teacher. I love my yoga teacher with all her hippy mantras, tarot cards, and life coach tid bits while we're doing a class. I want to be her.

I would like to work in a library at a school my school district. I'd love to have the same schedule as my kids (and working in the library would mean I wouldn't have to deal with ridiculous parents).
ETA: Based on later responses, I'd totally go with SAHM or lady of leisure for sure!! I'd call myself a Domestic Operations Manager. I'd love to not stress about child care when school is out and rushing to work after getting the kids on the bus or rushing home to get kids a quick dinner before whatever evening activity.
Dog walker/dog sitter/do groomer. I have no ideas why but I love it when I can hang with my dog at work and find it so relaxing.
I wanted to be a teacher long ago but then decided I didn't want to be stuck at a school my whole life. Now seeing what DD's teachers get stuck with I'm glad I made that choice 15 years ago.
I would want to work at one of the historical homes/pioneer villages in our area and give tours, demonstrations on cooking, gardening etc... I love historical homes. There is an old mansion from the 1800s being restored near me that I am going to tour this weekend. I would love to spend my days there with a garden in back and burning biscuits in a Dutch oven.

I would be either a:
1. Travel blogger 2. Actress 3. Hair model 4. "Model" for beauty school as they learn to do makeup and massages and nails and stuff, or 5. Private escort so long as I get to pick the clients.
Or a limo driver. Professional sunblock applier (a cabana girl?). Psychic. Pretty much anything but what I do now.

I was thinking SAHM so I could do anything anytime on a whim (volunteer, interior designer, Craft, etc) But lady of leisure is even better.
I’d love to be a travel blogger and travel the world but not sure how I’d manage that without homeschooling and that sounds like torture and not in my kids’ best interest. So I’ll save that for 15 years from now once they’re in college 😊
Lady of leisure for sure. But really if I had unlimited funds or was guaranteed an income I might start my own non- profit perhaps relating to the fetal surgery that saved DS’s life but since we’ve had lots of medical issues I have lots to choose from or just children’s medicine non profit. I actually don’t care for fundraising but I could hire someone to take care of the boring stuff for me. And I get to do the cool stuff like presenting the checks or approving grants maybe either for research or perhaps for individual families.
I'm enjoying life right now. I'm a SAHM, working on a small side consulting gig. DH's business is going really well, so other than to get benefits, there's not a lot of need for me to go back to FT work right now. The kids are in a school that really requires heavy parental involvement, and it's taking up more time than I would have thought. Today I brought them to school and never came home - I stayed at the school almost all day, save an hour for a quick lunch and some errands, volunteering for different things.
So my current gig, but if I was making what I used to make, there would be a lot more help hired around here.
I really think I would rock on the admin side of senior living communities. It was like something clicked when we were touring the eleventy billion places on our area. I don’t want to lead old people yoga, but I would love to schedule it.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

mae0111, see that does sound like a good balance actually.
I love my kids and love the school environment, but a teacher or a dyslexia tutor's job is too hard (the two things I first thought of). Parent volunteer sounds great!! I'd love to help organize activities for my child's school or copy worksheets or whatever they need, and then pick up my kids when school gets out or let them do swim team during the summer, which starts at 9am, and a million other little things.
