DH and I are not trying yet, but will be as of November. In preparation I just had my IUD removed two weeks ago and started tracking with FF to see if I can see my cycle. I had a loooong period (pretty light but for like 9 days) 2 days after removal. I’ve basically only had 5 normal days since. Today I started up with the period again. Way more than just spotting but not a lot.
Anyone else had this happen? Should I code today as CD1 or just wait and see if this is actually a thing?
It took me a long time to regulate after coming off the pill with DD, so I’m worried that it will take a while again. At the same time, we didn’t want to be having a kid in early Spring next year so we waited to pull the IUD. Here we go again!

What kind of IUD did you have? Sounds like it was one with hormones? I would keep tracking on FF and leave CD1 where it is for now. Once ovulation is confirmed and a new period starts, the bleeding/CD1 might make more sense.

I don't think this is uncommon.
When I got my IUD out I had a normal period but sooner than expected. After that my cycles gradually normalized. It took me a few cycles before I ovulated on the same day consistently and my cycle length varied for a few cycles by 3/4 days.

I had a Mirena so yes to the hormones. Based on day 2 I am going to say yesterday was a fresh CD1. This is a lot more than spotting. Hopefully my body figures it’s shit out soon. I don’t want a period every other week!
