I know it is SUPER early but my Christmas Club deposits on 10/1 so I have started thinking about ideas for what I would like to get for people and shop early. I really would love to be 90% done by early December so I can enjoy the holidays and not necessarily be stuck shopping and wrapping last minute.
So, if you have started thinking about it, whats on the list? Anything new and fun?
I have started making a note in my phone when DS mentions something he'd like, or if we have an idea for something we'd like to get for him, because I know later I'll be scrambling trying to remember my ideas.
Right now I have: Switch game, Thanos' gauntlet, something Ready To Robot, and the Harry Potter book series.
We only shop for DS, so that makes it pretty easy. We also buy for my brothers' kids, but a few years ago we came up with the ingenious idea of each buying an extra item for our own kid/s, wrapping it up as from "Aunt/Uncle X", and putting it away to exchange when we get together with them over the holidays. Then we square up $-wise, because he's only buying for DS and we're buying for his 2 kids. It's sooo much easier than trying to figure out the item that the kid is asking for, which one they already have, etc.
I want to get nice bean bags for each kid - any recommendations?
DS1 - wants night vision goggles so I’ve started researching- all the toy spy ones aren’t really what he’s looking for but true night vision goggles are pricey.
Ds2 - is 3 so he will be easy. Probably a playmobil set
I got some jewelry from Leah Alexandra for a few friends in August when I had a discount code so those are tucked away. DH’s sisters I’m doing some nice skincare stuff which they always appreciate.
I just have DH and my parents to think of in terms of what to get.
Santa hit it out of the ballpark last year so it’s going to be a tough to follow up.
Nieces/ nephews most are high school or older so cash.
DD turns 8 in November so I’m thinking about that first! I have no great ideas.
Her biggest wants are a phone and a bearded dragon. LOL, no. She also wants a Nintendo Switch, glitter high tops, and a a few AG accessories. She will get the American Girl doll stuff and high tops. I’m considering the Switch as a family gift.
Otherwise the only other idea I have is a new sleeping bag. She’s aging out of toys so this year will be hard.
gastro , JC Penney has nice bean bags. It was years ago but I bought cloth ones for my nieces and nephew and they lasted a long time before flattening. I think it was the ones around $50 in this link: They were cotton. (tye and cloud - print if I remeber correctly)

Oh great idea...my kids need these. They currently have character ones. lol.
gastro, we got bean bags from Land of Nod (now Crate & Kids) several years ago and they still look great. The pictures online now look strangely tall and overstuffed, but in reality ours are low and slouchy, as you'd expect them to be. I think when I got them there was some kind of sale plus free monogramming.
I always end up going overboard, despite attempts to not do so. All the kids have bdays in Dec/Jan so I shop like crazy for bdays and Christmas and also for some relatives and it seems I always have extra stuff. Plus St. Nick comes to our house night of Dec. 5. No firm ideas yet, but...
DD is about to turn 10 and still going strong on American Girl. She has also been talking about wanting a camera and a kid FitBit type thing. Sleeping bag is a good idea for her--she's been using her little sister's as needed. DS (will be 8 in Dec) wants a video game system, but I am just barely breaking out tablets now so not sure on that yet. May have to wait. He also will surely want some kind of big Star Wars Lego set. He saw a huge Nerf gun at Costco and wants it but I hate those things so not sure yet. Maybe also a kid FitBit. DD (will be 6) LOVES deer, so I already have a couple cute deer things I happened to see. Lego set; Playmobil. She will also want some American Girl items. DD (will be 4) loves princesses/Disney, mermaids, and Barbie. Got her a mermaid outfit for her Wellie Wisher already b/c I had rewards.
We are going to Disney in early March, so I'm sure this will be a year for some Disney apparel for everyone. I want to get DD3 (& probably DD2) some of the good-quality dress-up clothes that you can wash.
I had noted snap circuit sets as a possible gift idea. We recently got the game "Dragonwood" and it's great for my 9 and 7 year olds.
I’m boring...we tend to do a lot of needs and fewer fun stuff. They have so many toys. Dd1 - kids drone dh found on clearance, AG clothes for her doll, new sheets, a dress Dd2 - new sheets, programmable caterpillar toy, a dress, and something else? Dd3 - new sheets (they all needed them 😆), probably a swim suit and goggles, backpack and a dress Dd - no idea...
We may get them all another set of magnatiles, but no one has really expressed a large item so idk what Santa is bringing. Maybe tickets to Disney on ice? Or maybe an overnight at a local water park. Time will tell.
I just picked up a box of LEGO friends pieces for dd1. Dd2 is probably getting an American girl doll if I can find one. Dd3 I have no clue. Da I also have no idea.
