2. My indigestion has been getting worse. I'm not sure if it's related or I just ate something funky, but last night I woke up around 1am and got super sick and then I felt better. I'm supposed to get my 1-hour test results this week so I've been indulging a bit in case I get bad news.
3. Ha. My last pregnancy I stopped working out completely when morning sickness settled in and by the time I tried to get back to running, I felt so heavy and slow that it seemed pointless. This time around, I again stopped completely in the beginning and just feel like I can't put in the effort I'm used to, so I don't even bother. The most I get is the occasional evening walk with DD and DH.
4. I can't keep up with tv shows. DH is more of a movie person so that's what we do. We can never keep up with a show schedule. I do have plans to binge watch Handmaid's Tale on mat leave though.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? I had a growth scan last week, and we got to see her yawn. It might have been the cutest thing I've ever seen. They also gave us an extra profile picture of her mid-yawn, which made me really happy. I'm assuming that everything looked okay during the scan, but I have an OB appointment on Thursday so I guess I'll get confirmation then.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? So far, not much. I keep telling myself that I'm going to get back into daily yoga, and then it keeps not happening. I even found a series of prenatal yoga on YouTube that looks promising, but I need to actually do it. I'm committed to making it happen this week.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? I've got my DVR set to record a bunch of new shows. I'm going to check out Manifest and New Amsterdam this week, and we've been watching Mayans MC (the SOA spin-off). I'm also excited about The Voice and Survivor both being back this week.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I got my BFP at 3+2 (post FET) so this is going to be the longest pregnancy everrrr. My first beta is Wednesday.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? I'm on exercise restriction from my RE right now. I'm a runner, but I had to wait until 12 weeks last time which blew. After that I ended up running until the day I went into labor though. This time I think I can get back to it sooner because its a frozen vs. fresh cycle. I'm going to ask this week.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? I'm out of the loop here, so nope.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? Finally saw my OB today! Yay! She says she's feeling so much better after her surgery. Baby looked great! Got more ultrasound pics.
She approved my allergy med, benefits outweigh the risks in my case. But I now need prior authorization from insurance and it's $200 oop. Puke.
I'm also seeing a Webster chiropractor later today because my sciatica is starting. I had the same thing last pregnancy. Looking forward to it (the appointment, not the sciatica)!
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? Me, exercise? Ha! Um, my job has me walking 9-10K steps 3 or 4 days a week, and I routinely lift 200 lb women, so... my back doesn't thank me.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? My videos on medical procedures for school. No time for TV. Although I'll make time for Outlander starting Nov 4.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? 1 more week!! My c-section is scheduled for next monday!
I've finally gotten over 95% of my sicknesses from the past month. But my gag reflex has gotten so bad that I throw up every time I try to brush my teeth... so that's awesome. Didn't throw up a single time during first trimester lol.
I made my big amazon registry completion order and everything should be delivered today. It's going to be like Christmas.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? um, nothing. my OB doesn't want me doing much because of my blood pressure, and to be honest I am way too tired. Going to the grocery store yesterday knocked me out for half the day yesterday.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? No idea. I just started streaming season 1 of Suits, so that's new to me, lol. I am looking forward to greys anatomy starting up again. I just can't quit that show.

1. How far along are you this week? 36+5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? Nothing really new here. Still tired of being achey and tired of being tired, lol.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? I'm not. Because I'm horrible. But I did run/walk a half marathon in May pregnant, so ... yeah. But nothing past that. I had grand designs on exercising the whole time, but I've been so wiped out most of the pregnancy that it hasn't been realistic. I'm really looking forward to getting back into spinning and running, though. We assembled our jogger yesterday, actually!
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? Like katespade , I want to watch Manifest and New Amsterdam. And returning shows I'm excited about include all the NCIS shows, Bull, The Good Place, and probably some others that I'm forgetting.
mpc -- YAY! You're SO CLOSE! I hope your gag reflex gets better soon!
pooh8402 / katespade -- I'm glad everything looked good at your appointments!

1. How far along are you this week? 23w4d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? I've been getting gas pains in the evening, right around dinner time, so that's great timing.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? I've mostly kept up my routine of running three times a week and weightlifting twice a week, although there have a been a handful of times that I couldn't bring myself to do the weightlifting workout. I ran until 8.5 months with my first pregnancy, and weightlifted until the end, but I reduced the intensity of both as I got bigger. I think I'll stop running sooner this time - I think I pushed it too far last time. The baby was fine, but my round ligaments and bladder gave me issues, and my midwife warned me at my last appointment that running while pregnant could have long-term consequences for my bladder. I'm assuming I'll keep up weightlifting until the end, although eventually, it'll be mostly body weight exercises. I also added about fifteen minutes per day of light yoga in the last several months last time, and I'd like to do that this time too.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? I've gotten out of the habit of watching TV. I'd like to add it back in, because there are some hobbies I do while watching TV that are getting neglected lately.

1. How far along are you this week?
17w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group?
A goat jumped on me and punched my stomach yesterday, so I was not happy. My OB isn't worried, I feel okay, and I have an appointment tomorrow, so hopefully it was nothing. I hope someone eats that goat, though.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing?
Lol.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching?
Not really. When we cut cable, we lost a lot of the premiere stuff and I haven't really missed it.

1. How far along are you this week? 5 weeks today.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? I've been super crampy. I think it's a dehydration thing. At least that's all I'm hoping it is, so I'm just drinking tons of water. My appointment cannot come soon enough. Random: We're telling family on Halloween (my MILs birthday) I wanted to tell the rest of the world on Thanksgiving but I don't know if I can wait that long.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing?
Brisk walks right now because of the cramping. Once I see my doctor I'm going to ask about yoga and weights.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? No new shows, just excited for This Is Us, The Good Place and Jane the Virgin to come back.
cherryvalance, fwiw my 3 year old punches and elbows me in the stomach all the time. No issues here so far!
oliviapope, 1st tri crampiness is normal. It's the embryo settling in, and your ligaments will stretch as your uterus grows. Being hydrated definitely helped, though. As long as the cramps aren't severe and/or accompanied by bleeding, it should be okay.

Thanks for this. This is my second but my first pregnancy was 8 years ago and I was a teenager. I knew nothing then but I feel almost as clueless now lol. I remember labor but most of the 9 months up to it were a blur.

1. 33w
2. Had our all day class at the hospital over the weekend and trying to forget about the cervix size chart lol. On the plus side the maternity suites are huge!
At my appt today baby would not stop moving and his heart rate was through the roof - took a bit for it to come down and even though dr said it was normal I was (am) a little freaked out.
3. Not much. Early on nothing because I was coming off a loss and with IVF the dr had me limited until 12w. Then mostly walking during 2nd tri. Now I want to keep ankle swelling down so taking it easy when I can.
4. I don't watch a lot of network TV so likely no new ones but super excited for the Good Place. I'll likely watch the last season of Big Bang too. And I'm trying to finish up Ozark so H and I can watch season 2.

cherryvalance - I feel your pain. I was snuggling with my dog yesterday, and he used my stomach to push himself up. I'm also trying not to overthink it, because the last time it happened my OB told me not to worry. My dogs are such mama's boys, it's hard for them to understand that they can't be climbing all over me anymore.

1. How far along are you this week? 13 weeks!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? Last week of first trimester! We are announcing to friends and family this weekend at our housewarming party. I'm so excited (parents and my sisters know, but my 9 year old niece doesn't) for everyone to find out. We have been trying for 6 years, so my family is going to lose their minds when we announce.
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? Nothing, I'm so lazy. I need to get back to the gym. I'm paying for personal training, I need to be using it!
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? I am going to try to catch A Million Little Things and Single Parents. I am looking forward to Chicago PD, Fire, and Med coming back. Oh, and Hell's Kitchen. I love Gordon Ramsay.

1. Who knows? 5 weeks? 9? 14? I’ll hopefully find out tomorrow at my first appt.
2. I had my first bout of morning sickness this morning and my boobs are on fire. My hormones are raging and I cried AT WORK like Alice in Wonderland crying a river today. Wtf. Sooo now my boss knows. My work situation is really unique since I travel so I feel better having them know in case plans have to change last second.
3. Walking. Hopefully soon I’ll be cleared from PT to do yoga again. Oh yeah - I also have a torn shoulder situation right now. Luckily it’s not the rotator cuff as originally thought but it’s making my life even more complicated.
4. That Manifest show looks interesting but I don’t really watch a ton of TV. Hulu is good though. I’ve been bingeing Blackish, which is good and distracting. I’m more of a podcast person but I haven’t even been able to pay attention to those lately. My brain is completely gone. I hope this babe will be smart bc it’s stealing all of my sense.

walterismydog - Good luck at your appointment tomorrow!!! My pregnancy brain started setting in quite a while before I was comfortable announcing at work, and kept showing up in the middle of meetings. I would lose my train of thought mid-sentence, or forget the important words and have to start describing what I meant instead of using the right term for it. I mean, I still do those things, but it's easier to explain away now that work is aware of my status. lol.

It’s SO REAL! I had no idea it was like this. I’m ADD anyway but now it’s like completely amplified.

pooh8402 and katespade, thanks for the reassurance! That's what I was telling H--people get into car accidents and fall, etc. But I'd punch that goat if I could
2. I still can’t believe my due date is next Monday!
3. It’s been two weeks since my last workout (a swim) due to a foot issue. Now that my foot is feeling better, I’m hoping to get in a beach body prenatal workout video tonight!

I second what pooh8402 said. Cramping was my first noticeable pregnancy symptom. I kept finding myself expecting AF to show up at any second, because it was so similar to my early CD1 cramps.
Post by cherryvalance on Sept 24, 2018 18:40:20 GMT -5
oliviapope, the cramping with my first was ridiculous. I echo the others that drinking definitely helped ease the cramps (I had no idea how much water I actually had to drink a day to keep up), but they definitely felt just like my period.

1. How far along are you this week? 9w3d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Questions for the group? Nausea slightly better in the past week, constipation much worse .
My question - how do you deal with anxiety of pregnancy after a loss? I don't see my midwife again (saw her at 8w with good ultrasound) until 12 weeks which is another 2.5 weeks from now. I'll have NIPT labs drawn at week 11, but those probably won't even be back by the time I see her the following week (I think? These labs are new to me as I didn't have them with DS). I told myself I'd wait until I hopefully hear the heartbeat on doppler at that 12 week appt to consider getting a home doppler, but I'm really tempted to get one before then (but don't want to freak out if I can't find it, but I feel like between my H and I - he's a doctor, I'm a nurse who's used dopplers before - if it's there, we'd probably get it?). Sorry for the rambling...thoughts?
3. What kind of prenatal exercise(s) are you doing? Trying to keep up with my normal cardio 3ish times per week, but have been struggling due to nausea and fatigue the last 2 weeks. Planning on getting back to the gym this week.
4. It's Fall Premiere Week! Are there any new shows that you're looking forward to watching? I have no idea what are good network shows. When I watch tv, it's typically Bravo or HGTV.
oceanstbride, I would advise against the doppler. I'm an L&D nurse who works triage sometimes, and I often can't get a heartbeat on the doppler at less than 14 weeks. Sometimes I can, but most of the time, no.

Thank you, this is really helpful to hear. I know it can be hard to find even if it’s there (and I have very little experience doing it from years go). I think I’ll just try my best to keep busy in the next few weeks until my appt.
Post by seaturtle on Sept 24, 2018 21:12:52 GMT -5
oceanstbride I honestly didn't relax until after my 20w anatomy scan where we could see that everything was ok. And definitely didn't get a doppler (although was lucky that we heard a HB at my 10w appt). Just keep yourself busy and try not to let every twinge in your belly get in your head. I know it's hard, hugs to you.
Post by cherryvalance on Sept 25, 2018 4:05:53 GMT -5
oceanstbride, you need to know yourself. If it will freak you out that you can't find the hb, I would not get a Doppler. I have one (which my OB hates) and I find it very reassuring, but I also knew I wouldn't be able to hear anything early on and was okay with that. It was definitely helpful before I could feel movement.

i wouldnt get one before 11 weeks or so.. i have a doppler and loved it before i could feel definite movement with this baby.
