How is everyone? I can't believe it's almost October. A will start her new preschool next week, and I've started a flex schedule so I have every other Friday off.
I have massively overextended myself though. I'm in the middle of planning a conference and committee members keep dropping out. It's so frustrating and means everyone else needs to take on extra work. We are all volunteers so this is not going over well.

loira, I hope A loves preschool! Has she been at home with her dad the last couple weeks since her daycare closed?
Remember all the trouble H was having adjusting to her new room at daycare? She's adjusted and is very happy there and now we can't get her to come home in the evenings. Phew! But now her favorite game is to pretend she's the teacher and we're the kids, so she bosses us around even more than she already did.
After a pretty great weekend, S has really been kind of a terror with me and G. He always prefers me, pushes G away, screams if G picks him up, etc. I know it is 1) a little normal and 2) because he spends the majority of his time with me. But it has to stop. Both G and I are there, doing stuff with him and he will literally scream and claw his way out of G's arms to get to me to do the same thing that G is doing. If we are out of the house this is not an issue. He does not have fear of strangers, just if I am there he wants me.
loira, I feel really overextended right now with work, too. Commiseration hugs.

I guess I'm joining you guys? I'm so reluctant to consider myself graduated, but I'll be 9 weeks on Thursday and I have another ultrasound tomorrow. Since I've had three D&Cs at 9.5 weeks, if it looks good tomorrow, I think I'll be able to relax and trust this a little more. Given the amount of nausea and/or heartburn I've had the last couple of weeks, though, I'm hoping everything is going well (plus, we PGS tested with IVF, so for the first time I'm pretty confident the baby in there is genetically normal).
Otherwise, I'm overcommitted and undermotivated at work (I'm a scientist/college professor). I'm so tired and nauseous and anxious that I've had a hard time being productive (normally, this is not an issue for me). I'm falling behind and adding more stress.
compassrose, I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU HERE! And have chills just thinking about all you have been through and how anxious and nervous you must be--I remember those feelings so well. You are in the right place and we will be happy to support you as you go through this exciting journey! I, too, remember feeling like I could not focus on anything but the baby. The "what ifs" balanced by the excitement at the beginning. Then the excitement and planning in the next stages. It was the best! Congratulations and I cannot wait to hear more as you progress!

shauni27, that is the nicest welcome ever. Thank you I'm really looking forward to being able to be excited and plan instead of trying to temper my hopes.

I've been MIA for the past month -- how has it been a month!? I've been having a really rough time; it's a combo of the failed cycle (and the resulting realization that we likely won't be having another) + residual stress from moving this summer, the house still being a mess, and having no friends/support system here + DH taking an 8-day overseas business trip (and the only help I was able to get was my dad for 2.5 days, and Dad is not nearly as helpful as my mom would have been!) + and my SIL giving birth to her third baby (ah, what timing! you all know the ol' "happy for her, sad for me" feeling...it's back). I finally started therapy again week before last, and go see her again today.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
compassrose, I am excited for you to be excited. I remember being mostly scared until we hit 20 weeks and had our ultrasound. But I had personally experienced a later loss, so I was nervous until I got to that point, too. I remember my mom and sister and BFF saying "we will be excited for you until you can be!" Hopefully for you that is sooner rather than later. Huge hugs, belovedbride07. That is A LOT to deal with!
lol loira, the first thing I thought was look the date is backward!
6 more days til baby!
Did I mention that I am in the process of selling a house? lol. I bought it back in 2006, then moved in with DH when we got married in 2009. I've been renting it out since then. The current tenants are buying it and we are supposed to close on Friday morning. I really can't believe it. I hope it all works out. I scheduled my NST for after the closing, just in case they decide to keep me. What a weight off that would be if it all gets signed before baby.

Welcome compassrose! Hope your appointment goes well and you can relax, if only a little. I remember being super anxious, too. It helped me knowing we had a PGS normal embryo as well.
Today actually feels a bit like fall, being overcast and cooler this morning. But it's supposed to hit 80 by the afternoon, so it'll be short lived. I dressed Leo in his first Halloween outfit anyway. (PDQ)
loira , I hope A loves preschool! Has she been at home with her dad the last couple weeks since her daycare closed?
She starts staying home with my H tomorrow. Today was her last day. Her teacher gave her her favourite daycare toy (a stuffed lamb) and a photo album with pictures from the past year. I barely held it together saying goodbye.
I hope she loves preschool, too! And that she starts speaking a lot more French.
Awesome about your DD and her daycare. Love the ordering you guys around - A does that too. It's a bit terrifying to see how much pleasure she takes in it, haha.
Guys, I am like a broken record always coming to you guys for support or guidance. Sage has had diarrhea or really loose stools for WEEKS now. At first I thought it was because he was eating a lot of fruit (but not even like a crazy amount--like 3-6 servings), so we reduced the amount of fruit to just 1-2 (and mostly bananas). We tried doing a mostly BRAT diet, but again, WEEKS of this...not realistic. Then I assumed just a stomach bug and it would pass. It will get better for a day or a day and a half and then back to diarrhea (and of course diaper rash).
My mom suggested we remove gluten from his diet to see if he maybe has a gluten intolerance. UGH. We already do not do dairy other than lactaid milk and yogurt. He will not eat meat. Do we have a dairy free, gluten free vegetarian that we need to feed?? This is impossible.
I just got my first beta back, its 1123 at 12dp5dt. I looked at my 1st beta at 12dp5dt with DS and it was 339. That doesn't point to twins, does it? I will lose my mind.

With my first single pregnancy my first beta was also in the 1000 range. With sage it was much lower. Both singles. Yay!!!

That’s so exciting! I’m guess it just means an early implanter—the beta doubles so quickly in the early days. I hear you on twin fear, though. I was terrified when they thought my last pregnancy was twins (two sacs, but one was a blighted ovum).

Sorry shauni27. Don't cut gluten until they test him for Celiac disease. You need to have it in your system to test positive. I'd go to a pediatric GI at this point.
Poor S and poor mama, shauni27 . E had something similar last month - loose stools for a few weeks, diaper rash (that was a combination of diarrhea and a change to Target diapers, opps). I cut back on diary and it seemed to help, and tried to add probiotics which I'm bad at giving her. Her digestive system seems to be back on track, although she still poops like 3 times a day. I'd check in with the pedi and think about a GI.
Poor E, I took her with me to get my flu shot and she lost her shit when the pharmacist came out to give it to me. She just hates doctors so much and she didn't understand it wasn't for her. I wonder if she will grow out of her hatred or if it's stamped into her deep memories forever. I feel like it may be a core memory for her .

Both my boys had a really rough few weeks of diarrhea last year. It just seemed to go on and on until it finally cleared. Pediatrician said it was some virus going around.
I would not cut anything out of your diet until you talk to his pediatrician and have confirmation of an allergy. Coming from the mama that cut soy, dairy, and nuts when DS1 was a colicky, reflux, hard to deal with newborn. Finally went to a GI who told me I could do the elimination diet but he felt it wasn’t necessary and that DS1 didn’t have allergies after all. A few weeks later (time and sleep training were the cure) I had a completely different baby. Eliminating all those foods made it so much harder on myself...I wouldn’t do it again unless it was absolutely necessary...and even then, I would likely sacrifice BFing for my own sanity (and I have BF’d both kids past a year and still BFing DS2 at 2yo). ((Hugs)) mama. I hope you get some answers soon.

shauni27, ugh, i'm sorry lady! we're over here in a dairy free/gluten free household as well, on he allergist's recommendation. Thankfully, G eats meat (even though I really REALLY wanted to raise him vegetarian), but I wish we didn't have to eat meat to have a more diverse diet. But cutting out the gluten and dairy makes it difficult to find foods for J because he struggles with a lot of insoluble fibers. So...we're basically screwed.
Things are going well here. G has his 15 month appointment next Friday, so that's exciting. It's a "no shot" appointment, but he's getting his flu shot, so...sucks for him. We're all getting it though, so i guess we can suffer together. Work has been absolute INSANITY, so I'm hoping it slows down soon. I'm thrilled we're moving into fall, because I'm over this summer BS, and I've started working on G's halloween costume! I can't wait to get it done, we have family photos on the 20th for our Christmas card, so I'm going to ask the photographer to take some with G in his halloween costume too.
thoseareradishes, ok now you have me thinking--maybe the diaper rash is worse because I also just switched to target diapers...I wonder if I go back to Huggies if we would see a difference.
At this point I have not even called the PCP because they always tell us the same thing--he is eating fine, staying hydrated and generally seems fine. And while they are loose it is not pure liquid and after like a week it will be fine for 24 hours and then back at it.
For those that tried a probiotic, ( thoseareradishes) what did you use and where did you find it?
luv2rn4fun, thank you. That is what I wanted to hear.
oneslybookworm, what made you eventually see the allergist?

shauni27, G rubbed some cottage cheese on his face and broke out into a HORRID rash all over. It was pretty bad, so we got him into an allergist the next week.

shauni27, the doctor gave me samples of a Gerber one (not the soothe, a different one), and last time we were there for her 15 mo checkup he gave us packets of Culturelle that you mix into something cold like applesauce. She doesn't eat a pureed food every day so I forget about it, and she doesn't really like cold milk.
I'd try switching diapers. I'm pretty sure the Target diapers are the reason for both of the nasty diaper rashes she's gotten. She doesn't get rashes from Pampers.
I am freaking out about having two toddlers. I am not sure there is enough wine in the world. J had already started laughing when I shake my head or say no 😢

DS1 used to get really bad rashes with Target brand. We haven’t used them for years til just this week (Huggies and Kirkland haven’t been on sale enough so we are hoping to use Target during th day and Huggies at night til they are back to their “normal” price). I would try switching back to Huggies again and see if the rash clears up. Good luck!
