Not sure what to think of this since the founder seems to seek out controversy. He aims to be “back” in 2 months. Estée Lauder has to be regretting the investment in the company with all the drama around it.
Yup, that does not read like the communication of a stable person who is grounded in reality. It makes me sad for him at times.
I am a terrible person, because mostly it makes me sad for my face. I was planning to restock with a bunch of their products, but in the time it took me to use up my current stuff after making this decision shit went entirely off the rails.

I get it! I only ever used one of their products, otherwise I'd probably have a similar reaction. I can't remember, has the Reddit list of alternatives to their products been shared here?

I think in the last post about this dude's swift and chaotic decline. I haven't really dug into it yet. I've been out of AHA for ages now though, and need to actually do something about it.

Gothamista was raving about the Farmacy Honeymoon one. Different price point though.

I, of course, love my Paula's Choice AHA. I've used the 8% and the two different 10% formulas they have.

I am fundamentally a giant cheapskate.
pantsparty recommended this brand a while ago and I have really liked what I tried. The prices are good and they seem to have big sales frequently, www.makeupartistschoice.com
I am using their 40% Lactic acid peel because it's a weekly treatment and I am lazy. It came with a pH prep serum for just a few dollars more. I got this to replace the Ordinary AHA/BHA Peeling Solution and like this a lot better. I also got a hyaluronic acid and an eye serum that I like but forget to use most of the time.
It's really nice because you can order smaller or sample sizes. I got a one ounce bottle of the acid and it's still going strong a few months later. Plus, the distribution center is really close by. I got my order in 1-2 days despite ordering on a Sunday.

I love MUAC! You have to sign up for emails because they send out 30%+ off coupon codes pretty frequently. All of their formulations are great. Most frequently I use their vitamin C serum, niacinimide, and lactic acid serum. They also have a ton of great peels in varying strengths. If you order any of their peels just get the smaller size because they'll last forever. I apply with a q-tip and for real, it'll take you years to go through it.

Definitely a higher price point but the few things I’ve tried from Farmacy have worked really well.

I'm glad they finally did something. This was needed months ago. As much as I like their products, I just couldn't support the company anymore because of him.
I second makeupartistschoice. Since moving South earlier this year, I've been breaking out like crazy! I've been using their Mandelic acid peel and face wash and it's great. I was waiting for another 30% off sale to order the serum and some other items. My items arrive today and I can't wait!
There's a ton of dupe lists for The Ordinary products

I totally get it. I love their products, but haven't purchased from them since he started going bonkers.
Color me not surprised that they're shutting down, even temporarily. I bet they'll either get rid of him, or shut down permanently.
gilmoregirl, I have that list bookmarked for when I do run out of my products.
I've already purchased a replacement lactic acid from MUAC.

I use the 5% lactic + HA and I couldn't find anything out there with that level of lactic (it's all 10% and above, with most being 30%). I need something lighter as my face does not do well with most acids.
BUT just looked on the reddit thing and there is one!
