I am trying to run a Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial Regression in SPSS and need help. Already downloaded the R Extension and can access the ZEROINFL test (analysis ?), but I have no idea what to put in any of the fields other than dependent variable.
This is so way past my comprehension level and I cannot for the life of me find any sort of appropriate tutorial. Any one have experience or know a good board I can query? The Google is not giving me any help and my quantitative research contact is jammed up with dissertation proposals/defenses.
So, I got stuck trying to make a quantity display in a pivot table earlier this week, so I am clearly not your people. I surprisingly have found some more complex design software answers by searching YouTube if you haven’t tried that....
I am sorry I only comprehended that you are trying to do a statistical analysis of some sort with a program I have never heard of. I second youtube. That is where I go for all of my tutorial needs.
My H was going to help you, but then he realize it wasn't what he thought. He thought it was a database retrieval, but then he said it was an old IBM product maybe? Anyway, sorry no clue here.

Thanks, I knew posting here was a longshot as it is a rather random statistical analysis. My quant expert hasn't done it since graduate school and in a long defunct software so she cannot help either.
waverly SPSS is an IBM product for statistical analysis. Thanks for asking your H! I might have to reach out to the Research/Eval Bureau at the local University to see if they have someone who can help.

You use pivot tables?!?! Look at you.
I use excel for basic financial analysis - I'm usually feeling pretty darn advanced when I use an hlookup, since I'm the only person on our floor who even knows what it is.
k3am - I am covering for my boss and didn’t quite realize the instructions said “build a pivot table” until she was already out. It was nerve wracking!!
And it made me sad as for years any excel needs a colleague set up for me - but she committed suicide a few years ago.
2chatter, I am sorry for the loss of your colleague.
DH set my pivot table up for me. I was able to copy it exactly to add data to it. Now I think I could do one on my own, but it would be extremely basic.
Shoot i completely forgot to pull my SPSS book off my shelf today! I know it’s there. I won’t be back in that office until Friday. It’s from the early 2000s...so I’m not even sure that will help. Do you think it would?

Maybe? If you have a chance to look when you are back in the office, I would definitely appreciate it. I think the R integration package with ZEROINFL came around SPSS v.18 which was published sometime in the 2000's. Do you know the title of the book? I live about an hour from my University so I generally avoid checking out books from them, but our public library has an astonishing number of random technical books. I don't know why I haven't thought about an SPSS book. My brain is so bogged down these days.

Thank you!
Just checked my calendar and I’ll be there Wed afternoon. I’ll set an alert this time!
