We need to replace the mismatched fixtures (original 1960s vintage, but not cool 1960s) on our ceilings. There are four fixtures close to one another. One needs to be a sconce because there is a skylight on the ceiling. I think the three others should match. I wanted to avoid the boob light, but I haven't seen anything I like better. I need to decide soon. Help! Or are boob lights fine and I should just go with them?
The other thing we did was replace our flush mount boob light shades with drum shades (kept the base, bought longer threaded rods, shades fit over & around the old base) because new ones with new bases were going to be too expensive.

I have a strong disdain for boob lights, too. I have similar to these in several houses. They come in different sizes, so you can light different sized rooms.
In my home there were a few boob lights that I hated, but the space definitely called for something flush mount. I've been supremely happy with these: www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40389169/
