I cross posted on TTTC as well, but thought I'd ask here too!
Can anyone whose had one give me an idea of what to expect? I didnt have one last time around we did IF treatments, but I've read up on how it's done. Just looking for personal experiences on what to expect. The nurse basically told me to take Advil before and have a driver for afterwards and that's it. Thanks!

I had one to remove a polyp but I was under anesthesia. Recovery was a breeze- went home and rested and was back to normal the next day. I didn't have much if any pain afterwards.
I just had a hysteroscopy to remove some polyps before our FET. I didn’t take anything before. Was under twilight. Had to get to the hospital way too early but it was otherwise a breeze. Less than a half hour once I was wheeled back. I took a couple Advil when I got home to “get ahead of it” but that was stupid because I never had any pain. Bled very very lightly for less than a week.
I had a hysteroscopy done on Friday, not under anesthesia, as part of my surrogate workup. I didn’t have any tissue removed but I didn’t even feel the scope being inserted or removed, a pap is more uncomfortable to me than that was. I didn’t take anything for pain prior and I didn’t have any after, I also didn’t bleed at all. The worst part for me was the bloating from the carbon dioxide they insert to help open up the uterus. That lasted the rest of the day and my pants were so tight.
Oh man, I was thinking, that procedure sounds familiar, but I’ve never had one. OH WAIT, I totally did. I had some scar tissue after a D&C, which was removed by hysteroscopy. It wasn’t awful; I think the anesthesia was the worst part.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I had mine yesterday afternoon and all went well. I built it up to be worse in my head and it was relatively painless. All looked good inside my uterus too.
Side note:
I was already nervous about the appt to begin with, and then on our drive down (we live 2 hours from the clinic) our house alarm detected fire. I was panicking and called our neighbor to go check it out and thankfully it was an alarm malfunction and there was no fire. But then the fire dept showed up anyways, so that was fun. So needless to say my BP was sky high and I was even more wound up when I walked in to the office.
