oh man. I'm trying to keep my expectations low but I don't know what to expect! I haven't read Chaol's book yet, should I read that this weekend?
I loved the first half of ACOWAR and then thought the second half was dumb, and I think she has already dragged the TOG series on too long....but I want to know what happens.

You should def read Tower of Dawn this weekend. It starts slow I will say, but the 2nd half of the book is great. Plus you get to meet some fun new characters and get more history about the Valg.
I'm a little worried about the battle scenes in KoA because of how she wrote ACOWAR as well.
ETA: I think it's slow because you meet a lot of new people and they are in a new country. But it's still a good book.
I’m so ready! Im going in with low expectations because her last two books were disappointing but I need to know how the series ends! I need a cliffs notes recap of everything that has happened so far. I’m hoping it will all come back as I read the final book.
I thought Tower of Dawn was quite good. I’d read it if you haven’t. It does start out slow but it ties the story together.

My library usual has pre-release books available to "recommend" which basically puts them on your hold list as soon as the library purchase them. I have been checking for this one for months and it's not been available. I wonder what's different about it.

Same! It's really weird that it's not listed in Overdrive at all and it's being released next week. I'm guessing that means the library won't have it available for a while

Same problem at my library. I’ll probably just end up buying it, no way do I have the willpower to wait weeks or months for it.

The hardcover is for sale on amazon for $12.99 right now.
Okay I’m about 100 pages in to tower of dawn and I’m glad I’m reading it. I didn’t realize how much I had forgotten about the books (I read empire of storms well over a year ago). Even if all the new characters are kind of annoying I can tell it’s going to be a good refresher.
Finished it today! I’ll hold off on spoilers for now, but I thought it was a great end to the series. I cried several times.
Start a new thread with spoilers!
I'm still stuck on tower of dawn. This is what happens when I stop reading a series. I just...stop caring. Its why I like to read series all at once when all the books are released. I think I read all the other books in less than a month and now its been a week and I'm still not making much progress. I'm on page 200.
eta and to clarify I'll read a spoilers thread. I like spoilers. haha.
For those who read Kingdom of Ash, how important is Tower of Dawn to the reading experience? Like if I read a recap of that book, would I be missing out? Because I really don't care about Chaol but I'll force myself through it if it's really needed...

This is my issue. I don't really care about Chaol and what is happening in this book but I'm trying to convince myself to care so that I can follow things better in KoA.

It’s important to read and gets much better about 30% in.
