GUESS WHO FINALLY GOT A SETTLEMENT OFFER FROM LOWE'S??? That's right, after NINE MONTHS of going round and round, they're finally paying out for the damage their subcontractor caused from the faulty dishwasher install. Bonus - it's higher than my contractor's estimate to fix. And now that we've signed the settlement letter, we're just going to cash the check and wait to pick a new floor until springtime, when we'd planned to pick out new countertops. LOL. I've been tripping over the warped floor boards for 9 months, so what's a bit more time at this point?
Also, M worked from home this morning so he could mow the lawn at lunchtime and then left for the office. Why he didn't just come home from work early to do that, I don't know, but since I didn't have to do anything - it's all good.
And a whine - I scheduled a meeting a month ago with the relationship manager at a vendor company and his local team in the Middle East to talk about some contract issues. They joined the call today - which is SUPER late in the day for them - but he was a no-show. I spoke to him on Monday about a different topic and confirmed that we'd speak again today. I feel not a bit guilty about copying his boss on an angry email.
chalupa, glad to hear they FINALLY came around with a settlement and SCORE that it is more than the estimate. WOOT WOOT!!
I am super annoyed. I went to the "fancy" car wash last night and paid $35. Fancy = hand dry, clean and vacuum the inside...... When I leave this AM it is still dark outside, so headlights reflect on my windshield. The people "cleaned" the inside of the windshield in circular motions and left a bunch of residue all over the glass. Then I notice that they never even washed the inside of the back window or wiped down either of the back doors on the inside.
Around here, $35 is pricey for a car wash and I expect MUCH more than what they did. I am not one to call or back and complain but I can assure you I will not be going back there again.

I've been so beat this week and I don't know why. Like, dragggging myself out of bed at 8am in the mornings.
On the positive side, we met a kitchen contractor and really liked him. We are waiting to get his quote back for the work, but assuming he's reasonable we will be hiring him. Now I need to finish deciding what I want in terms of an appliance set up so the kitchen designer can finish her design, lol.
My SIL recently moved in with us and she brought her dog. Every now and then I babysit the dog while she and my MIL run errands. The dog has a kennel but has not been properly kennel trained. The dog is batshitcrazy. Like, panting, drooling anxious when her mom isn't home. When her mom is home, she barks bloody murder at everyone who comes upstairs and then immediately lays down for belly rubs.
I came home from group therapy today to let her out of her kennel and spend some time with her until my MIL and SIL get home, and she has shit all over her crate. I'm sure it's the anxiety and the calming treats they've been giving her that have upset her stomach.
This poor dog needs prozac. She needs to be spayed too, but I doubt either one of these things will happen.
Can I get a vacation??? Ugh, I need a few days away to be mindless and recharge!
My friend's chemo started yesterday, DD is struggling with a few things at school, I have a migraine and am a bazillion weeks behind in work stuff. But my friend is feeling pretty good today, DD was able to work through her crying fit by calling me and we did breathing exercises, I will survive a headache and my boss knows I'm behind and tells me to do the best I can.
But seriously, a warm location with no real life would be greatly appreciated right about meow!
