What are you training for? Date? RNR Savannah half 11/3 Kiawah half 12/8
Training schedule for the week? 1 more long run before race day, and a bunch of shorter ones.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm struggling mentally to get my butt out the door these days. I'm really thankful for 2 friends and my mom who are running Savannah with me, so its keeping my training on course.
Su: 8 miles M: upper body, core Tu: 10 miles W: lower body, core Th: 5 miles, chest & tri F: long run Sa: 1 mile fun run, back & biceps
Vents: I have a cold and no voice, and the weather is finally perfect! I just want to be in a groove again! I feel like I’m always dealing with something. I know it’s called being an adult. Sucking it up after this vent
AW’s & Highlights: I switched shoes back to my old faithful Inspires and the extra 2mm are so nice. A minimalist I will never be!
cinco what version of inspires are you using? I'm still on the 11s, but I have a feeling once my stash runs out, I'll need to move up.
What are you training for? Date? Richmond Half 11/11, Kiawah Half 12/08, Boston Marathon 4/15
Training schedule for the week? Mon - 60 min run, Tues - swim + strength, Wed - 6 x 800 + cool down + warm up, Thur - 50 min run, Fri - 2 hr run, Sat - Rest, Sun - 45 min run
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm trying to find some inspiration. My runs have been mostly blah. I'm going to finally try some speed work this week. I thought I would do some earlier. I had it on my schedule, but I just didn't feel like a month ago. Also, I miss running with people, but I don't have a desire to get up extra early or change my schedule around to be able to make group runs with my running club. I'm just in a rut and don't know how to get out of it.
What are you training for? Date? Kiawah marathon!!
Training schedule for the week? M: Rest T: 7 miles easy W: 8 miles with 5x1 mile repeats R: 6 miles easy F: Rest S: 18 miles with hard intervals, ladies night out / My Favorite Murder live show S: Tap dance recital / 7-year-olds-in-head-to-toe-sequins madness
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! None this week
Any AW's or brags? Im not sure if you saw, but this weekend, I basically have the best weekend in history for a mom / distance runner / feminist true crime podcast fan
What are you training for? Date? - Philly half, 11/17, Kiawah half 12/8, IMTX 4/25
Training schedule for the week? - Mon: Rest, Tues: Endurance swim, group ride, Wed: Swim, Speedwork and strength, Thurs: Trainer ride, Fri: Hill repeat run and strength, Sat: Ride/Brick, Sun: Long run, strength.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! - Vent: This is my hell week/time at work, and I'm just drowning. - Nerves: I'm changing my running shoes, and I'm super nervous. My PT thinks my high drop is a big factor in my knee issues, so I'm switching to a much lower drop. I haven't worn anything other than Brooks in years!
Any AW's or brags? - My swimming has been off the chain lately. I don't know what happened, but I'm hitting times I would have thought were impossible.
mrshandy I bought the 14’s and love them. I hated the 12’s and switched to the Catalysts, but after my calf issues over the Spring and Summer finally decided to try the Inspires again.
Either the full or the half in Kiawah. I’m on a 2 week self/ back pain/URI imposed running break so no training (other than cross training this week). Will reassess then.
AW: nada. Vent: more of a confession but I am 100% relieved I didn’t run this past weekend. I haven’t missed running at all

mrshandy Have you tried taking some time off of “training” and just doing whatever you want to do for a while? You had a very heavy training cycle over the summer, and you may need a break. I know you can run a half marathon with no problem, so you could still take a relative break while still running your two fall races.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
I’m having a severe lack of confidence. I also can’t stop eating junk, mostly in the form of Halloween candy.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I had a crazy weekend. This morning we let the dog out and somehow the gate was open and the dog ran away. Luckily, someone in the neighborhood found him and called us.

This is definitely the most reasonable action. I have taken somewhat of a break. Only running really 4-5 days a week. Most of them easyish runs for the most part.
I waver between doing this and just KOKO. I know that my frustration really isn't really with running per se. But with a very boring work environment lately. It's been that way for a while and I was distracting my boredom with training over the summer. Now that is done, I'm just stuck at a job that isn't satisfying. I hope that will change eventually, but until then it's kind of spilling over into my non work life. Plus I feel stuck at my job because I'm paid well and I work from home 3 days a week (which is amazing).
What are you training for? Date? First marathon Richmond 11/10 First 50k-Trail-January
Training schedule for the week? Monday: Rest Tues: 5 Wed: rest Thurs: maybe 8? Friday: ? Sat: 12? Sunday: rest or strength
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Who was it who told me I should re-evaluate my 12 lb weight loss during marathon training? You were right. I gained a bunch this summer and haven’t been able to shed ANY during marathon training. We leave for Punta Cana just after thanksgiving and I wish I wasn’t at this weight.
