DD loves jeans. Try and find Slim. Jordach at Wal-Mart has slim and so does Children's Place. DD prefers boot cut but they seem to run wider so this fall I bought 7S super skinny straight leg with adjustable waist. She hates having to have the adjusters but needs them all the way in to keep up the pants. I also found a slim at Target but they fit horrible. Also DD gets by with shorter pants by pairing them with tall riding style boots. think the tall boots we would wear with dresses.
... how do I convince my kids to wear real pants? DD will only wear leggings, and DS thinks he's really prince George and that pants are far too suburban for his tastes.
Joking aside, TCP and Gap both have slim cut jeans that fit nicely on DD and take up space in her drawers.
k3am, I assume they outgrow it one day? I wore dresses every day until the 4th grade. I thought it was a girly thing, but could have been a I don't like jeans thing and dresses were more comfortable. It's strange because now I find tights way uncomfortable.
At least you are in CA where shorts work. DS is trying to get me to go for shorts and knee high soccer socks- um not in 32 degrees bud.

We do TCP and get slim fit and adjustable waists. Ds1 is also Prince George and really prefers shorts, so when the daytime temps dip under 65 we have to switch to athletic pants as he hates jeans.
For girls who refuse to wear jeans, JCPenney has some really nice jeggings. It's just the JCPenney kids brand, I forget the name. They are thicker than leggings so they hold up well, look more like denim, and have a nice elastic waistband much like maternity pants. I have tall, skinny kids and the size 6/6x actually fits them really well with no major shrinking issues so far in the dryer. Because I also have princesses who hate "Buttons that squish their bellies."
My oldest has refused To wear anything but leggings for years (she’s almost 11). This year I begged her to try some jeggings. Justice sells slim jeggings that look like jeans but are much stretchier and have a sweatpants waistband. She loves them! So I bought her several pairs of course!

DS1 wears the Sonoma Straight Leg jeans in Slim from Kohls. He's also worn the slim from OshKosh in the past. Both still require a belt (magnetic), but even without the belt he is not swimming and the pants only marginally sagging due to his lack of butt.
