I'm so confused as to what's going on. DH and I are switching fertility clinics to the one in NY that's far cheaper than where we are now for IVF (4k versus 11k for 1 cycle - travel would only add another $500 since it's 6 hr car ride) but that appt's not until spring 2019. We had our final failed IUI a few weeks ago and are going to do unmonitored TI for now. I have my leftover letrozole which is enough to last 3 months at my old dose of 7.5mg since someone gave me her unopened bottle when she started IVF. I talked with the nurse and RE who said it'll be fine to do this on CD3-7 like I did for IUI's without monitoring since we're not doing injections or trigger shot like we did with IUI... just normal old TI. We're not expecting anything to happen since it never did in the past, I have PCOS and DH has moderate male factor (bad morp) The old clinic thinks we're doing IVF with them start of 2019 and but because of the cost it's unlikely.
Last failed IUI beta was Oct 9 and was told to stop the progesterone inserts to bring on a period which I did Had light spotting and then a light period Oct 12 to Oct 17 (CD2 was typical but CD3 was light and CD4 very little spotting - cramping normal) Vacation Oct 18-21 and thankfully no spotting/period Oct 23 (Tuesday) woke up in the middle of the night about 2am (based on time would be Wed Oct 24) to a full heavy bleed (luckily no sheets got stained since I got up - sorry if TMI) Oct 24 (Wednesday) moderate typical cd2 period Oct 25 (today) typical period but more like a cd1/cd2 and lighter than yesterday
I was NOT expecting this 2nd "period". TMI: There's more clotting on this one than the one a couple weeks ago but no typical cramping. Everytime I've come off progesterone from the other failed IUI's the period was heavy with far more clotting than this first one.
We are self pay which is why we're not doing another IUI since we're saving for IVF. Would you say this 2nd bleed is actually another period and it's currently CD2 and start letrozole again tomorrow? I left a message with the nurse but since we're not considered an active case it'll take a few days for her to get back to me.

I know you said your doctor was ok with it, but I would not take meds unmonitored. You never know if you could have a cyst or several follicles and end up like Kate Gosslin. Especially since your cycle is being wonky now.
I have no idea since I've never been on letrozole and don't really know much about it. I agree with thoseareradishes that I'd be super hesitant to take meds unmonitored. One thought is this: Did you only take letrozole days 3-7? I wonder if the bleeding is because you stopped letrozole and didn't restart any other meds? Again, I don't know anything about that drug specifically, but it seems like when I stop IVF drugs I bleed. LOL

I'm sorry. That sounds frustrating.
I did an entire IUI cycle and haven't started letrozole unmonitored yet. This body screwing me over is due to the last failed IUI. The nurse called me this morning and said it can take a full 2 weeks after the last progesterone pill for AF to fully show up and that it's my lining still "shedding". She had me go in for CD3 monitoring which they're having me do until IVF to make sure no cycts and get follicle count each month but I won't do other throughout the month monitoring like I did for IUI's.
I wouldn't take the meds unmonitored either. By unmonitored, I mean an ultrasound at CD12-14 to make sure you don't have like 7 follicles. It is totally possible.
I ended up having a wonky cycle last summer after my cancelled FET. 3 periods in a span of 6 weeks, then a LONG cycle (like over 50 days). It was weird and my RE didn't have any answers then either. We attributed it to my hormones being jacked up from the FET cycle.
