Read: Blade & Rose (Blade and Rose, #1) by Miranda Honfleur 3.5 stars/fantasy romance It's so hard to find decent books in this genre, so I was happy to find this one but...(see 'currently reading')
Total so far for the year: 125
Currently reading: Dark Deeds (Blade and Rose, #2) by Miranda Honfleur - fantasy/romance; this one has better action but is dragging at times! It really could have used an editor to condense this down.
Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor - YA/fantasy; this right here is why I still attempt to read YA at times, because there are still gems like this one in the mix
I finished Killman Creek by Rachel Caine,3* and You Think It, I'll Say It by Curtis Sittenfeld,1*. I loved the writing in You Think It, I'll Stay it, but I didn't like the stories. I just started Ghosted by Rosie Walsh.
QOTW: Reese's or Mike and Ike's depending on my mood.
I've been reading Tower of Dawn since the weekend. I need to just sit down and plow through it. (when I'm actually reading it, I like it. I'm just not motivated to sit down and read it.) I have Stillhouse Lake on my nightstand for next week so....I need to get moving, ha.

QOTW: tootsie rolls! or twizzlers.
OMG thanks for the reminder! I haven't read it yet I added a reminder to the OP. Guess I know what I will be reading this weekend LOL
I have finished nothing. I am 70% through the Wednesday Sisters. it is fine. I have several books from library holds just waiting for me to get to them. I am not sure what has happened to all of my reading time! And I had forgotten about Stillhouse Lake, I will check prices and see if I want to buy it for Nook or Kindle and move it up the TBR list. I have not been good about reading for this book club.
QOTW: Reese's aren't even allowed in the house for fear of eating too many!
I finished Improvement for my book club tomorrow (it was just OK, very forgettable really), and now I'm reading The Leftovers for my library's yearly challenge of a book that's been made into a TV or movie. The Leftovers seems like an interesting concept, but so nothing has really happened (the people disappearing happens in the prologue and then it time jumps, so it's not really an exciting, inciting incident).
QOTW: Well, so far my H and I have worked out way through 2 giant bags of Reese's cups... But really I like most candy. LOL!

I’m reading Devil’s Knot and Lethal White and lime them both. Devils Knot has been on my tbr list the longest and my new library had it.
QOTW: probably Reece’s, but when those are gone, I don’t discriminate 😊. My kids still like starbursts and such more than chocolate, which is good and bad. I eventually send it all into work with my husband.

I like anything with dark chocolate. I really like dark chocolate kitkats.
I'm currently reading Black Klansman. The story is interesting, but the writing is really bad. I don't know when I'll get to see the movie, so I wanted to read the book.
You Think It, I'll Say It by Curtis Sittenfeld,1*. I loved the writing in You Think It, I'll Stay it, but I didn't like the stories.
I completely agree! I also just finished reading this book and found it well written, but replete with lots of annoying characters. Definitely not one of my favorite Sittenfeld books.
Just started Kingdom of Ash last night. Before that I was re-reading a Harry Potter as I didn't have the brain power to start anything new.
QOTW: A few year's ago I would have see Reece's pumpkins hands down but I am getting to the point where I really don't like candy that much anymore. I do still like dark chocolate. For Halloween candy I am finding myself reach more for the sour patch kids this year than anything else.

I finished All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin. It was pretty good, and much better than her last couple books. I started The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne but I'm not very far into it yet.
QOTW: 100 Grand. You never see them in the fun size except this time of year.
I’m reading The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Take a manor house mystery and cross it with ... Twin Peaks maybe? The main character wakes up reliving the same day in a new person’s body and has to solve/prevent the murder to get out of the loop. Bizarre and fascinating.
Qotw: I really love candy. BottleCaps are my favorite that I only have at Halloween. Anything chocolate is always good, but that’s true all year.
I'm finishing up Pachinko this week. I'm reading it for my book club and it's very interesting. I'm not sure I would have normally read it.
rainbowchip, snshne322, I loved Children of Blood and Bone. Hope you enjoy it too.
Vespasia, I'm disappointed you didn't like Transcription. I have it coming up in my holds at the library. I didn't love her last book. I really enjoyed her Jackson Brodie series, so I think I'm always hoping she goes back to that.
Next up I have Lethal White, but I might hold it to read The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory. It comes out on Tuesday and her last book was such a fun, quick read. I think I need that.
QOTW: 100 Grand Candy Bars - my absolute favorite.

I've been wading through The Neuromancer (William Gibson). It's been about 3 weeks. The premise is good but I'm having a hard time keeping all the random futuristic terminology in my head. It doesn't help that I only have time to read for about 20 mins every other night. So while I'm interested enough to keep going it's been rough. I've got The Forever War queued up next.
