There was a firefighter/triathlete struck by a car while riding his bike in our city. Driver was arrested for DUI (controlled substance). Firefighter is in critical condition and unresponsive. Total hitting close to home as I have thought about getting on my bike many times but this is a big reason I haven’t...too many distracted drivers, it’s just so unsafe. My heart is with him and his family...he has 3 young daughters and a wife that really need a miracle for him to make a full recovery.
