NYC Marathon in 6 days/Whyyyyy are kids so germy?

My DD threw up Sat. night after complaining for an hour that her stomach hurt. She felt totally fine after and has been normal since. She had been at 2 parties that day so I thought she just ate too much junk or accidentally ingested some egg which she's allergic to. But overnight last night one of the kids she'd been playing with that day got sick. Freaking the fuck out over here that it was a bug after all and I'm just a sitting duck waiting to get it. I've had a great training cycle, injury free and feel great and ready to go. Even the weather forecast looks good. Please pray to the H&F gods that I do not come down with a stomach bug this week! If it happened today or tomorrow and was just a quickie I think I'd be ok but I'm scared it will happen right before or that day. Whyyyyyyy.

Same thing happened to me this past weekend.
I ran the MCM on Sunday. Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week, my little guy had a fever. Came home from school on Friday with sores on his hands.
Older kid came home on Friday with a fever. Threw up twice in the night on Friday to Saturday.
I went to dc by myself and dh stayed home with two sick kids.
I’m doing nyc on Sunday too.
I hope everyone stays healthy.

Same thing is going down over here in our house. Z is sick with a stomach bug today, and I have the RNR Savannah half on Saturday! Really really hoping the rest of us stay healthy 🙏

oh no @g22 and bigoleworm !!! Well in a sorta good update, the mom of the sick kid texted me that her other kid had strep earlier in the week and his started with vomiting, so she took her daughter to the doc and they diagnosed her with the same. So, the puking may have just been the strep breaking out in their case. Now 2 other adults at the party have sore throats. Fortunately, I work for ENT doctors and can get a test and meds at the first sign of a sore throat. I'm even thinking of asking if I should take something just in case - I'm never one to take unnecessary meds but I might make an exception now.

Omfg now an adult from that party has strep, and it’s not a parent of the sick kid. I swear to God my throat is hurting right now. I wonder if a culture would show strep if it’s just coming on. I’m about to go find out. Wtffffff

UGH!!! NO.. No germs. I felt like that last week at work when one of the two year olds kept wanting to kiss my cheeks... with his boogers going down his face. GET AWAY! I hope you can all stay well!
