So I’ve had some light bleeding today. I’m 8.5 weeks, we saw the heartbeat two weeks ago. I just got an appt for an ultrasound tomorrow. I’m just so scared and so tired. I’m trying to stay positive. Dr google says it can be caused by fibroids, which I have a few. Anyone have any advice?

It could be a subchorionic hematoma. I had one and bled on and off my entire first trimester. Do you use progesterone suppositories? They can be irritating.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Thinking of you, KellyEasterbrook. I also had some light bleeding in 1st tri last time and everything turned out fine. I hope you get reassuring news today.
Light bleeding/spotting is not always a cause for concern. It could be a subchorionic hemorrhage, it could be a friable (soft, easily bleeds) cervix that got irritated, it could be a number of things. You can always call your doctor or go to L&D to get checked out, but typically, a M/C has a lot of bleeding, cramping, passing tissue/clots.

pooh8402, You are more helpful than the on-call nurse at my OB's office! We think it might be one of the conditions you mentioned.
Thanks again for all the posts. Just got back from the ultrasound. The woman who did the ultrasound said baby looks great -- measuring right on time, heartbeat at 174. She did mention that she saw something that might be a subchorionic hematoma, which would explain the sudden bleeding yesterday (which has tapered off to spotting today).
So...WHEW. I think I'm going to book a massage for this weekend. This pregnancy is making me a crazy person.
Don’t wanna be a Debbie downer, but be warned that I think a lot of massage places won’t take you until you’re in your second tri. I don’t know if there’s a risk or if that’s just a policy I saw a lot.

I ran into that with my last pregnancy. My dentist wouldn’t go near me, my massage therapist and chiropractor were the same way. Understandable but so frustrating! Luckily I know a therapist in town and she’s fine with the first trimester— I only want her to do my shoulders and neck. I think there might be a tiny bit of tension built up there. Ha.

Perfect!! I just didn’t want you to call and be disappointed after such a stressful week. Hope you can get relaxed this weekend!
