What have you read this week? What are you currently reading? QOTW: In the spirit of Thanksgiving this month (for the US anyways), what are you thankful for this year?

I put aside Locksmith's Daughter (again) to read the book for this month's board discussion but am ridiculously behind. I also started listening to Memonach the Devil which is technically a re-read.
ETA: I am thankful I still have my sanity (only slightly kidding).
I have had a week of no reading because I had to take work home every night, and I can tell a huge difference in my stress level. I neeeed to start a good book! I think I will leave the kids with H and take my time at the library tonight.
I am getting Liane Moriarty's new one in my Book of the Month box this month, and my coworker got the new Barbara Kingsolver so we can trade. I'm excited!
I gave up on Ghosted by Rosie Walsh because it was awful. I'm glad I did because I followed it with Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, 5*. I loved this book! I started Us Against You by Fredrik Backman.
QOTW: I'm thankful that my family and loved ones are happy and healthy.
Currently Reading All the Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson and it's really slow and boring. I'm giving it this weekend and then it's may be a DNF.
QOTW: I'm thankful for 2 wonderful parents who are even better grandparents babysitting and staying at our house while DH and I go on a 10th anniversary cruise this month. It's a much needed vacation.
I finished Pachinko this week. I liked it, but overall didn't love it.
I picked up The Proposal on Tuesday and finished it by Wednesday. I enjoyed it - such a good, easy read.
I just started Lethal White last night. I am not too far into it, but I'm looking forward to reading some more this weekend. I forgot that the last book ended with sort of a cliffhanger and was very confused at the beginning. I really needed to read one of those refreshers.

I had the same problem when I started reading the book. I was so confused, I had to look at my review of the previous book to figure out what was going on.
I'm still reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, which I've been reading for a while, but I've also been busy non-stop for like the entire month.
QOTW: My husband (always) and honestly, my job. I'm lucky to work for the type of company I do. Even though I've been crazy-busy at work lately, it could be worse, since I don't hate my job!

It's been a really busy week and I've been falling asleep early every night so I'm still reading Children of Blood and Bone. I'm really enjoying it I just can't stay awake for more than a chapter or two a night.
QOTW: I'm thankful I get to work from home. I am so much more productive in my job and at home.
I finished The Witch Elm by Tana French this morning. It was pretty good overall and there was a big chunk that I couldn't put it down during. I was almost late leaving for work because I wanted to get to the end.
I also started the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I wasn't sure I was going to read that next or a Louise Penny book but it caught my attention.
QOTW: I'm thankful for the people I work with, even if it can get pretty crazy here at times.
Read: Dark Deeds (Blade and Rose, #2) by Miranda Honfleur 3 stars/ fantasy romance Too long and I was not a fan of the love triangle where she loves one person but is IN love with another person who she is not with because of reasons. I won't continue on with this series.
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor 4.5 stars/ YA fantasy This was so unique and awesome. Only not five stars because of insta-love (which can be plausibly explained on one side, but not really the other)
Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine 2.5 stars/thriller See the book club discussion post
Kimiko and the Accidental Proposal (Amaranthine Saga, #2) by Forthright 3 stars/fantasy romance-light I really like how unique this is from anything else I have read, but it's just a little too ya-ish for me
Total so far for the year: 129
Currently reading: Lethal White (Cormoran Strike, #4) by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) - mystery/suspense; I'm about two-thirds done and while I am definitely enjoying the amount of extra attention she is finally giving to the personal relationships of the reoccurring characters, this mystery isn't perhaps as exciting as the previous books. At least not so far anyways.
QOTW: I'm thankful that tonight is 'Parents Night Out' where our daycare stays open until 11pm so we can go on a date night. Fancy kid-free dinner needed after the craziness of kid Halloween events lately.
Currently reading "The Perfect Mother" by Aimee Molloy. It's meh so far. I'm about 45% done, so hopefully it gets better.
QOTW: I am thankful for my family and soon-to-be potty trained son...he's almost there!
I read this a few weeks ago and was meh about it as well. not terrible but nothing memorable
I appreciate your comment. Now I kind of want to quit reading. I have another book waiting for me, and I'm eager to dive in ("This Is How It Always Is"). Perhaps I'll skim the rest of, "The Perfect Mother" and move on.
I'm reading Baseball Cop, about the steroid era. It's kind of a dry read, so it's taking a while. BUT, the library just sent me an email that my hold on Fear is in, so this weekend I'll be verifying that my hatred of Trump is valid. Thankful: I have so much to be thankful for. We have a couple of friends with kids who have serious health problems, so right now I'm thankful that my family is healthy.
I am reading Kingdom of Ash. It's going to take me a long time to get through it. Right now I'm around 20%. It's good I just have limited free time right now.
QOTW: I am thankful for the weekends! During the week we are all so busy. DD with homework and activities, and DH with work. I am thankful for lazy weekend mornings where we can all catch up. I'm also so very thankful for the amazing weather we've had the past few days!
I'm reading Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. I follow "We Need Diverse Books" on Twitter and saw it recommended there. The story is interesting but the writing style feels very abrupt - lots of short sentences and single line paragraphs, which feels jarring to me.
Listening to Wolves of the Calla in my Dark Tower re-read(listen). I am not feeling all that into it Roland et al's story but I like the parts in the village. I feel like I should love this story more than I actually do, given my other book interests.
I'm reading The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes. I've got from the past perspective section to the present perspective, and it feels like it's taking an age to tie those two stories together beyond the existence of the painting in both times.
QOTW: I am thankful for my husband. Without him in my life I'd probably be in a really dark place.
I'm currently reading The Leftovers (book that's the basis for the HBO series) because I needed a book to movie/TV show for my library's reading challenge. I haven't seen the HBO show, but the book is kind of dull. It keeps bouncing around between different characters that aren't really that fleshed out, and there are a bunch of different cults, but even they aren't that interesting, they are just kind of annoying.
QOTW: I'm thankful that my H and I were able to go to Australia and enjoy our 15th anniversary this April before all the shit hit the fan with our parents illnesses this summer/fall.
Hoping it's ok if I hop back in over here. I'm currently listening to The Whole World Over by Julia Glass and it's driving me crazy. I love her writing, but the story is ALL over the place. I'm reading Fast Into the Night which is a fascinating memoir by a 47yo Alaskan Mom who ran the Iditarod.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving I'm very thankful for my health, cozy home, family and food on the table that so many don't have. I'm also looking forward to participating in a real life book club for the first time next month.
I finished To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I’m still picking my way through Drawdown (about solutions/strategies to reduce carbon in the atmosphere) and I’m partway into Fear - Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward.
QOTW: I’m grateful to be alive, that I’m able to be with my family, and for good health.
This week I read 50% of Dark Lover by JR Ward, then my library hold was up. I doubt I will put it on a waitlist again.
I am now reading The Book of M, by Peng Shepherd. I am enjoying it and hope to finish it before my hold is up (this is what happens when too many hold come in and life gets too busy!).
I am listening to Lean In - I am enjoying it and feel angry on behalf of women at the same time.
QOTW: I thankful for DH, good friends, my health, enough money to be comfortable in my life.
