I have a CX (cyclocross) race on Sunday. I was supposed to race both days but just need a break & have some things to get done around my house. We race every weekend from late Sept.-mid. Dec., and I just need a day off. 13-17 races in 13 weeks (Thanksgiving weekend off) gets tiring.
Can’t believe it’s tomorrow! It’s been a weird comedy of errors leading up - I got a cold and my asshole period yesterday, my friend who was coming to cheer us on had to cancel the trip here because her husband had a severe vertigo attack yesterday, and now the friend I’m running with twisted her ankle running to her car in the rain this morning. She’s icing it on the train and hoping for the best.
Good luck racers!! I’m doing the NYC virtual marathon challenge on Strava, so I have to cover 26.2 miles today and I get a guaranteed spot at NYC next year! I have a 20 mile training run on my schedule anyway, so I’m going to just do my training run and then walk for 6.2 miles . Not really racing, but fun times nevertheless

Raises hand. I just finished the Indy marathon this morning with a nice & shiney PR. It was a fabulous day to run a marathon, I really lucked out with weather.

UGH!!! I'm so sorry! Can she get some KT tape and tape up her ankle?

She got an ankle compression sleeve and is not taking it off until after the finish tomorrow and doing all the rest - ice, rest, elevation. She’s not having pain walking but it’s definitely swollen. She’s a tough chick though and if she has to hop on one leg to finish she will!

Good luck to both of you!!! Hope her swelling goes down soon.

Ooo! Me! Me! I’m running a local half marathon tomorrow morning . This race is a great big snuggly hug from the local running community, and I’m so excited.
