Pretty traditional stuff for us Turkey Stuffing Gravy Brussels sprouts Creamed corn Butter rolls Cranberry sauce Mashed potatoes Pumpkin pie Pecan pie Apple pie Maybe a walnut pie - one of our guests owns a walnut ranch so depends on whether or not she can get me walnuts in time to make the pie.
I’m making everything from scratch except we get a fully cooked bird and reheat from Whole Foods. We’ve done that for the past few years and it tastes amazing and makes it so much easier to cook everything else.
Pretty much all traditional stuff--turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato dish of some sort, cranberries, veggies, etc. DH's cousin hosts a ton of people, and everyone brings something. I usually bring my friend's recipe for "drunken cranberries" (with whisky)--they are great. I also make the regular old Libby's pumpkin pie recipe every year, but with a little more spice and a little less evaporated milk. We keep one at home and bring one to the party. I love having some pumpkin pie at home for the holiday weekend! Yum!
I just wish my hosts would stop using canned veggies!!
unfortunately they have the space but are terrible cooks. Turkey, potatos and stuffing all very bland. No seasonings, or added items. Literally they just make stove top and dont even add onion or celery. it's just bread! Everything else is canned.
I will do my own for the 4 of us that weekend. Beer Brined Turkey homemade stuffing garlic mashed taters Steamed broccoli Glazed Carrots Butternut squash cranberry sauce rolls
I try to keep the portions small since it us just the 4 of us.
That sounds awful! Glad you’ll have a nice weekend dinner...
We are hosting a Friendsgiving with friends (duh) early in the week. Otherwise we are expected to show up at MILs the day of (think lots of sugar and starch) and my moms on Saturday after. I usually bring a salad.
Our meal will look like this: App- Smoked salmon and cheese with crackers, nuts and sliced pears and apples Main- Wild rice stuffed pork tenderloin Orange cranberry sauce Lemon butter green beans Cherry blue salad (Costco!) Roasted butternut squash cubes Whole grain bread of some sort Dessert- Pumpkin pie and whip cream Apple tart Drinks- Wine/cider

I’m slightly terrified because my husband’s grandmother is hosting on her own. We’re the only guests and she’s insisting we don’t bring a thing. She hasn’t cooked regularly in two years since her husband died but she really really really wants to do this.
I think best case scenario is turkey with boxed/canned sides. I’m not looking forward to this meal.

cabbagecabbage, I actually lol'd. I am so sorry. I hope it turns out ok. I agree that you should have something to look forward to at home. Ultimately, it's only a meal.
