librarychica, phdmomma, The Bit looks cute! And my kids LOVE coloring and art more than STEM, so that might be a good way to bridge the gap. That one didn't come up in my searches yet, so thanks for the lead!
covergirl82, a couple kids broke this to DD last year. She came home pretty upset that they said the tooth fairy and Santa were just parents and not real. I asked her what she thought. Her answer was pretty cool. DD "I think as long as I believe in them then they will come and be real but once I stop believing then they will stop coming. Mom I believe in them so then they are real" I was pretty proud of her thinking and she is really into Santa this year and how he can logistically make and deliver toys and all sorts of other things. She still refuses to go sit on his lap though. She is 7. My brother and I still "believed" until our late teenage years but that was more for the little sis who was 4-8 while I was in high school.
186momx The other day DD1 asked "Momma, do you ever think that Santa might not be real?" My response was "No way!" And she seemed so relieved with a "Ya, me neither!"
I'm thinking rumors might already be flying in first grade. Such a bummer, they're only little once!

Yep. Summer before Kindergarten DS figures it out. Some kids were talking and he was obsessing over it. He started asking at 4 so we told him the truth that summer at 5 as he was seriously stressing.
I'm waiting for the kids to really start talking at school and DD to come home saying she had the worst day ever because of Santa and the kids picking on her or her arguing. Maybe I need to remind her everyone has their own beliefs and sometimes it is best not to share our beliefs at school since they aren't supposed to celebrate any holidays at school anyways.

My kid, who I swear came out of the womb a militant atheist, has plenty of experience with this. And not about Santa. (FTR, I’m not an atheist. But my 6 year old finds the whole idea of God to be absurd. She takes after her dad in this.)
3 yo - puzzles, books, Fancy Nancy dress up, all things Doc McStuffins
But my favorite gift is the one from us - we are putting a gymnastics room in the basement. DD2 asked for a gymnastics mat, and Amazon led me to balance beams and a gymnastics bar (both of which I found used on FB). With three girls, we figure this room should give us years of entertainment.
