Read: Lethal White (Cormoran Strike, #4) by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) 3.5 stars/ mystery suspense Character developments was awesome, the mystery was a bit lackluster
Archangel's Prophecy (Guild Hunter, #11) by Nalini Singh 3 stars/ paranormal romance In this newest installment there are some major personal changes for Elena, but otherwise this a dragged out book of filler to get to the cliffhanger ending where almost no decisions make any sense. Bah.
Diamond Fire (Hidden Legacy, #3.5) by Ilona Andrews 4 stars/ paranormal romance In this newest installment Nevada is getting married but Catalina takes center stage. I had to keep referring to a family tree diagram, but otherwise I loved this, per usual for this author.
Kyland by Mia Sheridan 5 stars/romance This was a re-read for me, but this time I did the audiobook. Still love it!
I just finished Baseball Cop. It was a dry read, so it took me a lot longer than it should have. Next up should be Fear by Bob Woodward, but I have in-laws visiting this weekend and don't feel like political discussion, so I might read The Perfect Couple By Elin Hilderbrand.
I look forward to pie. And I like turkey leftovers.
I finished The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis. It lacked some cohesion and ended abruptly, but I was fascinated by the various stories of people in the federal government. One overarching theme in it reminded me of Comey’s book A Higher Loyalty, in that people in the government are devoted to the mission of serving the public and generally are not first and foremost concerned with making a profit. It was much quicker paced than Fear, which I’m still slogging through, and is about some of the same stuff with the Trump administration.
@crazylucky I might postpone reading Fear in your shoes, too. I’ve thought more than once that I don’t like that Trump’s face is on both sides of that book. 😛
QOTW: I like all the Thanksgiving food - turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberries, bread, pie.

Ugh I'm in such a reading slump! Still trying to plug away at "Don't Let Me Go" and I started "When We Were Worthy" but neither are really hooking me in.
QOTW: My family is so small we don't do a huge meal with a lot of the traditional sides. I guess I'd have to go with stuffing with cranberry sauce.
I finished The Book of M by Peng Shepherd, 4 1/2* - I really liked it.
I have started The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle, half way through and enjoying it. Also listening to Lean In.
QOTW: For Thanksgiving I love the sweet potato casserole with marshmallows and cranberry jello "salad" - neither are everyday foods for me and it makes them more special. I also love pie - I usually make pecan pie, but am looking to change it up this year and am having a hard time choosing.
I'm listening to Stephen King's Wolves of the Calla (book 5 in the Dark Tower series), trying to get as far as I can before it expires on Sunday. I think I'm going to have to just admit that this isn't my favorite series; I thought maybe a re-read would help me to appreciate it, and once again I really really loved Wizard and Glass and am just kind of 'meh' about the others.
Maybe I should watch the movie. Is it any good?
I'm still reading Flame in the Mist, which I still find to be an interesting story with an abrupt writing style that I struggle with.
Maybe what's really happening is that I'm tired here at the end of the year and need to do some fun, easy re-reads instead.
QOTW: I love Thanksgiving food in general, but if I had to pick it would be stuffing with pecans, crasins, hamburger, and sausage all mixed in.
I read the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo in a day and a half over the weekend. Far, far exceeded my expectations. I almost returned it to the library because I didn't have much time left and I am so glad I didn't!
I started the Cruelest Month by Louise Penny a few days ago. I am having a hard time getting into but I am sure it will be fine.
QOTW: anything I can drench in butter and/or gravy!
I finished The Prisoner of Heaven a couple of days ago. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I've forgotten a lot of details from the previous books, The Shadow of the Wind and The Angel's Game. One of these days I'll have to go back and re-read them.
I'm in the middle of The Word is Murder by Anthony Horowitz. It's fabulous so far. I'm zipping through it. I love a good murder mystery.
QOTW: Stuffing straight out of the turkey cavity is my favorite.
I’m currently listening to Fatal Grace by Louise Penny and I started reading the English Wife by Lauren Willig, but I’ve been sick this week and keep falling asleep. I finished Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore earlier this week. I really enjoyed it. His fictional Denver was very much a Denver I recognized.
Desserts and Appetizers. I could honestly just do dips and pie and be content.
I just finished Fast into the Night: A Woman, Her Dogs, and Their Journey North on the Iditarod Trail by Debbie Clarke Moderow and it was a quick, very interesting read I started The Silent Wife by Kerry Fisher and so far, so good.
QOTW: a tie between mashed potatoes with gravy and pie. I really miss my mom's lemon meringue pie. I may have to make one this year.
Winter Solstice by Elin Hilderbrand (4 stars) love her writing and so easy to just get lost in her books!
the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel society - 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it but wasn't in love with it. Great story, book, just didn't do "it" for me
Currently reading:
Vox - about 75% finished and am LOVING it! Reminds me a lot of Handmaids Tale Where the Crawdads Sing (have not actually started it yet, but Its sitting on my nightstand, damn BLOG feeds keep preventing me from reading!)
QOTD: I just love the feel and smell of the holiday! As far as favorites? I think i enjoy it all that special day. Love cranberrry sauce, love stuffing, love sweet potatoes, LOVE gravy spilling and mixing into everything
I had to take a break from the Neuromancer as it was due back to the library. So I downloaded some Heather Graham novel I can't remember the name of much easier reading.
Currently reading Little Fires Everywhere for bookclub, and Click Here to Kill Everybody, which is non-fiction about how insecure IoT products are (which I already know, but it's still interesting).
QOTW: My family's "breakfast pizza" which is a German custard kuchen. It's kind of time consuming to make so we only ever had it at Christmas.
ETA: wait, that's not a big family meal... Still my favorite though. LOL!!

Is Wolves of the Calla the one that's largely a retelling of Salem's Lot? Because that one was my least favorite too.

It has a lot of Salem's Lot in it, yes. I actually read SL in the intervening years to see if that would pique my interest. I'm still "meh."
