So my leisurely me day has turned into a sick kid day. Ds has a sore throat and stomach issues. I have him parked downstairs on the couch with a blanket, his games, tv, fireplace, so I can still get things done upstairs. However, my peaceful day is punctuated with "moooooom, I don't feel good. " I realize. "Mooooooom, what can I eat." What you feel like eating. Ect.....
Saturday, dd called because one of the kids she was babysitting for threw up. I went over there, cleaned up the mess. And checked out the 2 year old, who was not amused, but seemed fine after a bath. She text the mom, but she was at her 30th birthday party. I left when he was set up with Pepa Pig. Dd had a friend helping, thankfully.
Yesterday I didn't get my run in, but got 16000 steps leaf blowing my wooded, huge front yard with this jetpack blower that weighs 40 lbs, getting everything from the garden, cleaning my car, and packing wood.
I feel like absolute crap and wish I just stayed home today. DD is having a Miss K day (old daycare teacher) for her no school day and I really could use a lounge in bed day. DD was also a pill all weekend, DH was in a foul mood all weekend, and the dog was just extra needy. I need a "me day"!

After weeks of working 16 hour days, I finally have a break in work and was planning to chill out with the kids. And now I'm sick and lost my voice. Just great.
I am have an ear infection so bad it keep me all night in tears. Went to the doctor today and had to get a shot in my butt. I am a freaking grown up. Thought I was supposed to out grow these

We are going to look at a fixer upper in a couple hours and DH has totally gotten hopes up that this is "the property" for us. I mean, I'm excited and am hoping it works out, but I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for a moping DH for at least a week if not more.
I just got an email from Nintendo telling me I will no longer be able to stream Netflix using my ancient Wii come January. I don't have a smart TV, don't need a new TV, and am annoyed I need to buy some other electronic thing to hook up to the TV so we can watch Netflix. I don't know what DD would do if she can't watch Magic School Bus or the Baking Shows.
I have to go to dinner with the new CEO of our trade organization, an EVP, a few VPs, and some AVPs. One other person at my level was invited but he’s begging off. Jerk.
Plus I’m trying to figure out why the hell I was invited. It’s just odd.
TMJ disorder still really painful. I have a chiro appointment tomorrow. I am going to a new dentist Thursday for a night device. Reading the paperwork device looks like not covered under dental. Dentist will check. They didn't want my medical to check that. Looks like it is covered under medical.
TMJ specialist that wants 7K upfront was supposed to call my insurance and check. Never heard back from them. So I call my insurance. I literally read her the paragraph in the booklet that says I have coverage. She wants a billing code. I don't have a billing code. So she won't tell me whether I have coverage and says the doctor should have told me the billing codes. OK yeah like doctors routinely tell us billing codes. I hate our healthcare system in this country. It is so so broken.
Oh and every dentist and ortho in town refers me back to the TMJ specialist. So I can't even find someone to get a second opinion on it.

Fixer upper ended up being a "needs demolished and rebuilt" upper. Cue sulking DH with the "what's the point in working hard if you cant have what you want" pity party. He was in a grumpy mood when I got home from the gym and started taking it out on the kids. He's been better since he was able to get out for a few minutes and go get some beer. Not exactly a healthy coping mechanism but he's only had 2 so whatever.
I'm so tired of the housing drama. Once my office sells we will have a clearer picture of if we can build or not. Until then, I'm afraid I just need to accept that my husband will be unhappy.

What is causing the issue with buying? Is it that a lot of places are out of your price range? Or not very much inventory since (I think) you are kind of rural?

There are a few causes. One being that my office building hasn't sold yet. DH would prefer to have that liability out of the picture plus it should provide a little bit of a down payment and/or money to do work. Not a lot out of our price range, but also not a lot period. Inventory is very low, to the point that I would be afraid to even list our house without knowing where we are going. We are in a rural area and we would like at least 3 acres, if not 5-7. That was the only reason we considered the fixer upper since it was on 7.5 acres.
We are in that shitty place where we shouldn't even be looking at the market since we don't WANT to do anything until the building sells but also afraid to not look since the properties that check most of our boxes are rare and we don't want to miss any of them.
DH doesn’t understand that being with DD all day when she can’t be outside and playing for the fourth or fifth day in a row is just as exhausting as going to work. Apparently he thinks we had a spa day equivalent.
ETA: we did have a nice day. But it was long and I would like wine and a nap before bed.

186momx, look for a Blu-ray player on Black Friday. I bet you could find a nice one for $50 or less. We have a smart TV, but we could use our Blu-ray player to stream Netflix if we wanted/needed to.

186momx, we stream Netflix and Hulu through our Amazon fire stick. I think we paid $25 for it and it works great. Plus, it's small and portable so we can take it when we travel.

Tuesday vent: it's very cold in my warm climate city right now. My kids do not ever believe it's cold because it never is cold plus it's warm in the house.
DS changed Jackets 3 times before he finally wore a thick one. DD ended up wearing a short sleeve shirt, topped by a thin sweater, topped by her warm winter coat.
By the time I arrived 5 minutes late to DS' morning tutoring, I didn't give a crap what they had on!!!

I have training for the next 3 days at work. Yesterday I placed my jacket and class materials on the desk that I wanted to sit at in the computer lab. My 2nd line thought I left it in there by accident and put it in my office. So much for trying to get the best seat in the house.

+1. And the fire stick is one of the things I can say with confidence will go on sale next week, so wait until then.

186momx, you may need a fire box and not stick. We don't have a smart tv or a tv with a USB port, but we are able to use a fire box which is essentially the same thing as the stick. It just connects to wifi and hooks up to the tv with an hdmi cord.

The fire stick hooks up through a HDMI connection. It doesn't have as many bells/whistles as the cube, but it also has a much cheaper price tag.
I'm pretty sure my TV has USB ports. It is only 3 years old. I think I need to look at it and do some black Friday Amazon shopping or maybe put it on my Christmas list since my brother is a I buy everything from amazon at the last possible minute guy.
I have 2 Smart TVs. One of them decided not to be Smart anymore, so we got a Roku. I love that thing! In fact, the interface is so much better than our Smart tv interface that I’m buying a second Roku for upstairs.

Well hell I don't know as much as I think I do haha. 4.5 years ago we couldn't get the stick because of our TV not being "smart" or having USB ports.
