Hi all! It’s been so long since I’ve been able to devote myself to H&F, so I’m sure I’m a stranger. DD is 2 months adjusted, and while I’ve been running occasinally, it’s really hard to find the time. I’m usually an early morning runner, but the thought of giving up even more sleep has been completely unpalatable. However, she’s a fantastic sleeper, and now that the doctor said we can let her go, she sleeps for 8 hours. 😳 I’m pumping, though, so I’m still getting up at 1am for that.
Long story short, I signed up for a half marathon in March, way back when I was newly pregnant. I’d love to commit myself to a plan and see if I can PR. I haven’t raced a half in years, and didn’t race one when I was at my fastest, so it shouldn’t be unattainable.

Hi Mushe! Good to see you here. I think it’s so important to take whatever sleep you can get with a newborn, but glad to hear you are (hopefully) entering a more manageable phase. Hope Miss B is doing well. I’ve thought of you the past weeks and sent some love out to you.
Anyhow, I’m not super good at following plans, but I think the Hal Higdon or some of the runner’s world plans are pretty solid if you want something free. If you are willing to invest a little bit, I would visit trainlikeamother.club — or just google Another Mother Runner training plans. I did a traditional marathon plan with them last year, and the camaraderie/accountability was really helpful to me while juggling my first post-baby marathon. The support was more valuable than the plan itself. I’m currently training with them in the heat rate plans, but the heat rate Coach is leaving at year-end.
Good luck with your return to fitness, and remember that setbacks or changes in your goals doesn’t mean you won’t be able to eventually reach them.

Thanks, thom! So sweet of you to think of us. I swear, I feel all the good energy. 🤗
I’ll check out Run like a mother - that sounds great! I used Hal Higdon for my early half marathons and marathon #1.
Just realized HEART rate training autocorrected to heat rate training in my previous post. That’s not confusing at all. 😛 Not sure if they will replace this with something else in January or not. Otherwise I think the 1/2 plan here for 13.1 Run or Race would be great depending on how aggressive you want your goal. trainlikeamother.club/traditional-running-programs/

Lol, that’s what I figured! Thanks for the link. 😄

I agree with taking it easy on yourself. Running will always be there when your DD starts sleeping through the night. You're still in the thick of things. That being said I was able to PR my half marathon by a good 5 minutes when my DD was around the same age as yours.
I think I did Hal Higdon Intermediate a few times and liked that. Beyond that I haven't found too many half marathon plans I like better than that. There aren't as many as you think.

I've done Hal Higdon intermediate as well, and liked it.

Hi! I hope everything is going well!
I’ve also used HH plans for half marathons. I haven’t trained for a half in a few years (I usually run one as a tune-up race for marathon training, so it’s part of my overall marathon plan). When I ran my half marathon PR, I ran a couple of long runs that were longer than half marathon distance. I think I did one 14 and one 15 miler. Those longer runs helped me feel strong at the end of my race.
Thanks, everyone! That’s a great idea, Wines Not Whines. I need to go print some out and start doing! I haven’t run in a few weeks, now because of the smoke here. 😥
